Reminiscent of Shakespeare's History Plays, "Salt of the Earth" is a fascinating look at ancient politics and ambition that is a sharp reflection of some of the politicking that can be seen today!

Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite fairy tale, and Reina Hardy's Glassheart is another reason to love it! The witch is by turns creepy and sympathetic; the Beast has facets to his personality I've never thought about; and Only has become one of my favorite heroines!

Robin Hood has long been a favorite legend of mine--and I am in love with Sony's adaption. What an original way to tell a beloved origin story in a a way appropriate for all ages. I loved both the inclusion of classic favorites, historical figures, and delightful new characters. There is also an amazing twist to the relationship between Robin and the Sheriff(no spoilers--but it's really good!) I have now read this script five times out of sheer delight and highly recommend it to any and every fan of the Robin Hood story!

Rarely has there been an adaption of "Pride and Prejudice" that I've loved as much as this one. Larson's representation of Elizabeth and Darcy is one of the best I've seen; Lydia, Wickham, Mrs. Bennett and Lady Catherine are all delightful(in their own unique way); and her understanding of Austen's social commentary and satirical wit is something few have been able to grasp. Melissa Leilani Larson has grasped Austen, and I hope she will continue to delight us with more Austen adaptions.

"Persuasion" has always been a personal favorite of mine. The original story is achingly beautiful, tender, and wonderfully romantic. Melissa's adaption takes the original text, complete with Austen's wit and sometimes satirical social commentary, and adds her own flavor; which blends seamlessly with it's source material. Anne and Fredrick's second chance at love is lyrical, beautiful, and still imbued with the sense of Austen charm that is in all her stories.
