  • Shaun Leisher: Blood Countess

This play really does a good job at playing with mood and atmosphere to tell a story that we all feel like we know. An example of the telling of horrific acts having more impact than actual showing. That choice also gives us the ability to look into the state of mind of Elisabeth Bathory without excusing what she did.

  • Shaun Leisher: Six Autumns on the Hudson

Biographical pieces of theatre about artists are certainly not new so it's always refreshing to read a new take on this genre. I had never heard of these two artists and Andersen does such a brilliant job of using such a short amount of time to let me know who they were but more importantly how they felt about art and each other. This is a play that would work really well as audio drama.

  • Shaun Leisher: Radio Hour

Love the fantasy concept of this play and how it's just accepted in this beautifully tender moment.

  • Shaun Leisher: A Dance Card

Andersen shows a real skill for verse in such a fun play that looks at nostalgia and it can impact the love we find in our lives. Really wanna see this play fully staged.

  • Shaun Leisher: One Day Soon or: Pandemic Daydreams

A poetic call to action that could have only been written in this time and place. The imagery of NYC is exquisite and becomes heartbreaking when the realization of deprivation due to quarantine occurs. It's a monologue of longing and hope.

  • Shaun Leisher: Frenzy and Fury

Less a play and more a full-bodied exorcism. In such a short time, Andersen is able to show pain being expelled from someone's life in such a brief interaction between two fascinating characters. Always love riffs on the Greeks!!

  • Shaun Leisher: Sadboy Hours (this is a coping mechanism)

A brilliant piece of experimental theatre about such a specific experience. Some truly beautiful stage moments and I love the freedom to explore the playwright gives collaborators.

  • Shaun Leisher: Emily Driver's Great Race Through Time and Space

This is 100% TYA done right and a perfect example of how to make truly accessible theatre. Every youth theatre program around the country needs to program this play!!!

Such an uncomfortable, gut wrenching and totally vital play.

  • Shaun Leisher: A Long Way To Tipperary

This one act is pure magic and stunned in me in how it explored this vital topic.
