  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Barbie Throws a House Party!

Hilarious play! Weingarten has a unique voice and style that makes this even more fun to read! There were so many lines I loved! For instance:

"Wait, so this summmmer, we should buy a pink cabin blow up dream house
and blow it up on the beach
and like drink s’more diet milkshakes lattes.
Might be kinda expensive to buy all that
But we can probs get my dad to buy them for us
If we cry a lot and throw plates at him and stuff."

Great stuff. Would be super fun to direct or be in!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: The Bearer (A One-Minute Play)

Beautiful. Powerful. Subtle. Real. I loved this piece and the emotional punch of it's ending. As a parent and a child both, this hits home in so many ways. Bravo!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Fanny Brice

A wonderfully vivid piece that both reveals and withholds, making us want more! Fanny is well-drawn and real, and any actress is sure to enjoy putting the work in on this piece and relish performing it.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Mission Trip [A One-Minute Play]

Hypocrisy in quick, snappy action. A strong micro glimpse at a macro problem.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Youth (1 Min Play)

The power of words vs the power of action on brilliant display in 60 seconds! Would live to see OR stage a version of this!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: THE RULES [AN IMMERSIVE 1-MINUTE PLAY]

This would be a terrifying immersive play to experience! Martin sets up an incredibly tense 60 seconds that ends with a bang (pun intended).

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Blood & Wine (a monologue)

I love the layers of this monologue, the wordplay associated with agents, children, and milk...and how I am left at the end wondering exactly what it meant yet exhilarated all the same. Would enjoy seeing this performed.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: 20 Questions: a found monologue

Fantastic piece open to creative casting, direction, and staging. Utilizing found text, this piece jumps off the page and opens the doors to all of the ways poetic and postmodern techniques can affect and improve performance.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Do You Get It

A heart-rending piece that questions the true costs of war and the fear that grips a mother when her son could be the one who pays.
