  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Do Not Bend

Charming! I love the journey my mind took in just 1 minute with this piece!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: God Awful Table (a monologue)

A well-drawn piece full of life, character, and charm. Merelynne draws us right in so we wish we were sitting at one of the god awful tables, too, for the chance to experience her a little longer.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Two Minute Warning (a two minute play)

Fun for everyone, but especially theatre people! A delightful 2 minutes.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: Unfit Puzzle Pieces: A Monologue

The ache, anger, and eventual empowerment brought on by heartbreak is on full display here in this lovely piece for an actor by Deray.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: The Rapping

An urban legend come to life! I was freaked out despite myself! A thrilling read that would be a great addition to any horror or Halloween-themed festival. I especially enjoyed the dialogue with its callbacks to classic sitcoms and scary movies, cementing this in the "real world" where such things can't happen...or can they?

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: DIVING PRACTICE: A TEEN MONOLOGUE

Beautifully and richly written. Great piece for a young actor to flex their skills and showcase dramatic range.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: A Small Attempt to be a Specific Woman, But Really Doesn't Mean Anything, Just Ignore Me

"Is there a Better way to be a Mother?/other than making that child the Center of the world?"

I applaud this piece with my entire being and ache as I recognize parts of myself in this apologetic woman. A beautiful, challenging, poetic piece for an actress of a certain age (50+) that doesn't reduce her to grandmother or washed-up woman, but instead, a woman actively doing the washing up for those around her. An A+ metaphor for womanhood today but hopefully not for the womanhood of tomorrow. Strong works such as this by writers such as Goldman-Sherman give me hope.

Very funny piece! Anyone familiar with improv comedy will be smiling and laughing along at this fun take on a police interrogation made to celebrate and showcase its actors' talents!

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: The Feather

I am fascinated by this short mime play and would love to see it performed; the subtleties of it and its simplicity hide a lot of depth about life, happiness, and finding meaning. Of the two proposed endings, I lean towards the less comical of the two, but depending on the actor and the venue, could see both being successful and effective.

  • Elisabeth Giffin Speckman: RIP VAN WINKLE RETURNS

A succinct and hopeful staging of an American classic! I love how universal and direct this adaptation is, appropriate for all ages, and how it eliminates less than flattering characters from the original story, such as the nagging wife. Well done!
