  • Artemisia, A Chicago Theatre: The Beauty Inside

A haunting tale about topics that NEEDS to be discussed. At turns brutally heartbreaking and other times incredibly beautiful. We're lucky to have this play as one of our Fall Festival Finalists!!

  • Artemisia, A Chicago Theatre: Every Waiting Heart

Ferebee handles delicate relationships with such love and care that it makes the reader feel as if they are intruding on intimate moments within these various complex relationships. We're excited to have this play one of our Fall Festival Finalists!

An amazingly powerful intergenerational mother-daughter piece in a unique setting. At times moving, other times funny, but always poignant. We're excited to have this play as one of our Fall Festival Finalists!

  • Sharai Bohannon: Alice Out of Wonderland

I've always loved Alice and I am beyond grateful someone tackled "Adult Alice" in an honest way. Life is often disappointing, the world is often confusing, and most of us spend a lot of time feeling helpless and lost. This is of course much more complicated for a girl that's been to Wonderland and back (a few times). Jared handles Alice's past experiences, and current dilemmas, in an intriguing and sympathetic way that reminds us of our own attempts at growing up. I really dig this play and hope it turns up in a festival soon!

  • Sharai Bohannon: INSERT TOKEN

I'm a huge fan of tackling technology on stage so this script makes me happy on a couple of levels. Super quick, super fun, and definitely of the present time! Would go nicely in a festival or anthology!

  • Sharai Bohannon: STANDARDS AND PRACTICE

Rachael not only has a perfect short for two women but the women are in roles that are usually given to men. Let us hope this starts a trend where women play more scientists and boxers in dark comedies. There's a ton of other stuff working for this exciting piece too aside from what I'm gushing over. It definitely deserves to be read, discussed, produced, and so forth!

  • Sharai Bohannon: GREEN BOOTS

Short but deeply moving piece. I think it's a very timely piece (especially while there are obvious comparisons to be me regarding the Reagan era to today) that touches on empathy and lack thereof. Looking forward to reading more of Rachael's work and hopefully seeing something soon!

  • Sharai Bohannon: Cafe A Brasileira

Very nice, intimate, and heartwarming 10-minute play. Looking forward to see what Elaine does with a full-length after seeing what she conveys in something this short.
