I saw this play at Texas Tech and LOVED the dark humor (and was also a bit concerned with how much I could relate to the protagonist). The script tackles social media addiction, while specifically examining what happens to a person that spends so much time plugged in that they're not sure how to function in the real world anymore. It reads like a less terrifying, but equally complex, episode of Black Mirror.

I attended the Equity Library Theatre Reading and was blown away. The characters, dialogue, and storytelling are basically a masterclass in playwriting. I look forward to someday seeing a full production of this brilliant piece!

I had the privilege of attending a recent reading in Chicago, Il. The play is not only timely, important, provocative, thought-provoking, smart, and complex, but it also doesn't let the audience off of the hook as it shines a light on some of the more grey areas surrounding this issue. I'm excited to see where this goes and I think Rachel is definitely a writer to keep an eye on.
  • OCCUPY HALLMARK a ten-minute play

A very funny and thoughtful script. Moose and Salty are very grounded and relatable characters that help keep this from becoming just a typical cute romantic short play. We've all been in, at least one of, their shoes before and that makes it funnier and more touching than I expected it to be. Very well written!
  • A THING OF BEAUTY (formerly entitled: THE HANDS SHAPE
    16 Mar. 2016
I saw this a few weeks ago at Bishop Arts Theatre Center. It's a very powerful piece focused on three strong women who challenge us to reevaluate how we see ourselves and our familial bonds. A very sharp and beautiful work. Bravo to all involved with that production!

This is definitely one of my favorite Pospisil plays even after having the pleasure of serving as SM for a night of his work in my undergrad. This is a very dark, witty, and smart piece that I can't say enough good things about. I love everything, but what really sticks out is the characterization that happens within the span of something so short.
  • Hath Taken Away

I'm always in awe of Juntunen's way with words, but he might have outdone himself this time. Hath Taken Away is a particularly beautiful piece with a very intriguing structure. Surprisingly though provoking read that stays with you long after you're done reading it.
  • Three Cheerleaders Cheering for the Worst Team in the History of High School Sports

I highly enjoyed the surreal world of this brief play. It's at times familiar and at other times something akin to HEATHERS. I especially love the moment when the most silent character erupts and finally shares what's on their mind.
  • Lycanthrope
    14 Mar. 2016
Lycanthrope is a very well-crafted tale that has a ton of stuff working in its favor. I really dig the morally grey characters that make it hard to separate the “heroes” from the “monsters” in the moody world of the play. I also particularly love the amount of strong women roles found within a script set in 1870. The story is packed with twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat.

This is a super cute romance that leaves room for actors to actually play. Because it's set in the future it would also be fun for designers to go as big, or as minimal, as possible. Very fun, very quick, and very witty. I can't recommend it enough!
