This play had me laughing out loud. Kate Danley has a keen ear for comedic situations and builds to a satisfying climax. I love that the protagonist is a female who is one with her power tools. Read this! Produce it!

I was lucky enough to see a reading of this in Seattle recently. A charming, lovely piece about two people who don’t even know they need it, find out they need each other. Kate Danley skillfully builds the comedy and ends with a great punchline. Great dialogue and well-drawn characters!

“The present (and the past which is ever-present”. Ms. Reed had me from the “time” setting before the play even began. A beautiful, theatrical piece about the different stages of women’s lives, and how our commonality far outweighs our differences, no matter how uncomfortable that may make us feel. A poignant gem of a play. Read it, produce it!

Every day now in a while I read or see a play and think “Damn! I wish I had written that!” Smart Bra is one of those plays. Witty, original, and a pointed satire on how technology has seemingly replaced our human need for connection. I can’t wait to see a production of this! Bravo to Ms. Reed and once again, “Damn!”
  • DAUGHTERS of ABRAHAM
    5 Oct. 2019
Emma Goldman-Sherman is a born writer. Her imagination knows no limits and she understands how to write with theatricality and wonderment. That is so apparent in Abraham's Daughter. A female Jew from NY myself, I so resonated with this play and the underlying themes of all of us being mirrors for one another and that we aren't all that different after all. It unapologetically starts right off with magic...but then we find the real magic is in empathy and understanding another person's life. A must-read, must-produce play!

Taut, frightening, not a wasted word or pause. I had to remind myself to breathe when reading this. I can see why it is getting chosen everywhere! A master class in playwriting and suspense.

Ms. Ruetz has masterfully used dramatic irony to great effect. The fun in this piece- and it is great fun- is watching the realization unfold for both women and seeing where they take it from there. A tale of inter generational female bonding. Read it, produce it!
  • The Elusive Pursuit of Maximum Bliss
    6 Sep. 2019
A long-time student of metaphysics, this play definitely registered a 100 on my 'bliss band'. A compassionate look at how underneath the routine of daily life (or daily lives, in this case), we are all longing for connection and a happy ending. A fascinating and theatrical look at the many possibilities we create in each moment and each decision. I would love to see a production of this play!
  • Binged There - Done That

I am a huge fan of absurdist comedy and this fit the bill. A smart and funny send-up of tv binging, episodic television, and the tropes of pop culture. Ken Preuss cleverly pokes fun at the way we rush through everything in our lives, not stopping to savor the milestones. I would love to see this performed. It's a sure-fire laugh-getter. Read it! Produce it! And why am I hungry for lasagna right now?
  • SNEAKING A PEEK

I was lucky enough to see a staged reading of SNEAKING A PEAK in South Florida. Ms. O’Neill-Butler has written two characters everyone can identify with, regardless of age or gender. The audience laughed throughout the piece. I love how it deftly skewers prejudices against older women and gives us insight into the very real discrimination older women face on a daily basis. I highly recommend this two-women play for everyone. Read it, produce it!
