  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: JAM

The dialogue in this one act crackles and delights as office colleagues try and fail and stress (or not) about getting the jammed office equipment working again. They are each so recognizable, and so much humor comes from their specificity. It makes the turn that much more powerful and makes me root for them that much harder at the end.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Neon Glowing New

WELL. This is one way to keep your kids drug-free! This silly one act about teens partying like it's 1999 (because it IS, and anything is possible!) is so much fun. I love the sheer dorky joy of Kelly's dad and the effect it has on Kelly, Lark, and Aphid (what a name) in turn. This piece is a lot of fun and as close to a rave as I wish to get in my middle age.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: What You Wish For (short)

It's so hard being a woman in the workplace! This short is a modern adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin with 100% more sex than the original. The jokes are constant, the cynicism is sharp, and the orgasms abound. A perfect twisted fairy tale.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: SEEN

Whoa... This play is equal parts scary and funny, with a ticking clock and a twist I didn't see coming! An engaging, easy to stage two hander, this short should be easily produced everywhere, all the time.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Fanny May Not, Yet

I didn't even know that Fanny Mendelssohn was a person. I thought there was only Felix. And that, I suppose, is the point of this short: to shine a light on the musical talent who isn't a household name simply because she was born female at the wrong time in history. This piece gives snapshots of Fanny at different stages in life and had me googling her to find out more about her after I finished reading, which is the mark of a good story.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Night of the Were-Wife (a monologue)

John Busser knows how to tell a good story, and that is on full display in this monologue, as Boone tells his bartender why it's not safe to leave after last call. The details, the jokes, everything works so well. This would also be a great piece to perform in an actual bar, for a night of site-specific theater.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Transgression

I love this short's dialogue about trans people which says so much without being preachy - in fact, it is very funny at times. That's a hard line to walk, but Chris Soucy pulls it off with ease, and the twist ending is a delight I didn't see coming.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Lizzy - 10 Minute Play

So many twists! Double surprises! Just when you think this spooky short is one thing, it turns out it's something else. I love twists I don't see coming. And a good comeuppance. This play provides both. Plus it would be SO MUCH FUN to stage. I would love to see how a director and designer tackle this one. Scary good!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Family Dinner

This short is a delight. I love the way the situation keeps escalating, I love the homophone jokes, and I cackled at all the mansplaining. This play is a wholly original, thoroughly entertaining piece of theater.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: You Got it Right!

Jazz is referenced in this short a few times, and the play FEELS like jazz to me, between the interplay of Jane/Isadora, the Hitchhiker, and the comments they each direct to the audience. It moves along making total sense, each part complementing/rhyming with the others, yet I have no idea where it's going while I'm in it. What a great play. It will keep you invested all the way to the end as you try to puzzle out this weird Twilight Zone situation the characters find themselves in.
