  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: HOLIDAY OFFICE PARTY FOR THE SELF-EMPLOYED

This short is SO clever! Being self-employed has its perks, but none of those perks are on display at the office holiday party. The jokes are relentless, and the dialogue is so, so sharp. I also love the twist that gets Eileen rethinking whether she should try to tolerate this madness or not. What a fun piece!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: I'll Decide When I'm Being Ghosted, Thank You Very Much

Oh my gosh, this monologue is beautiful and sad. A lovely testament to grief and all the things it makes you feel.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: CHIMNEY MONSTER

Awww I was not expecting a play with the word "monster" in the title to be heartwarming, but here we are. This short is VERY cute. I love the grumpy/sunshine dynamic between Santa and Spark, and how Ash (the titular monster) is actually very sweet underneath all that soot. I'd follow these three all night long as they deliver gifts!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Do Not, I Repeat, Do Not Hang That Mistletoe Tonight!

This short is a delight! I love the dialogue between Mary and Joe and between the brothers, and when they all start interacting, it is too much fun. The frozen stage picture toward the end is a nice touch, and the dad joke is sure to be appreciated (and stolen) by every dad in the audience!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Unbelted

This one act is about wrestling, but you don't need to be a wrestling person to relate to Dan Hollis's inner conflict over whether or not to walk away from something he loves. The fact that it's in conflict with something ELSE he loves is just good storytelling. I especially love the final moment.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Gnawing My Leg Off ("A Secret Santa Title Exchange" Play)

What did I just read? This was an absolute delight of a wild ride. It's a western, it's a musical, it's angsty and poignant and wistful. What an undefinable, one-of-a-kind good time!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Time's Up, Pencils Down

This short play is so, so clever! The premise is such a good one, and then just when you think you get where things are going, you don't at all! I was wondering how Kyle Walker would ever stick the landing, but then the landing is perfect, too. What an original short.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Snakes On A Plane, On A Boat, On The Sea

This short is one of those plays where what isn't said speaks just as loudly as what is. The situation Ray - and Nick, who invited Ray into his car - each find himself in is slowly revealed over the course of the play. I especially love that it doesn't end all neat and tidy. Ken Love manages to pull off a successful drama in only 8 pages, which is no easy feat!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Blame It on The Eggnog

Well this was NOT what I was expecting! What a delightful, unsettling surprise! Costumers and makeup artists would have a field day with this one, and I would love to see it staged to see how the bit with the tinsel is pulled off. I love that this short has one foot in Christmas and one in Halloween. Bizarre in the best way, and very funny!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Roots Deep, Trunk Wide (Bascom & Isaac #2)

This is adorable!! This short about two guys who are so worried and in-their-heads stressing that the other won't like them is a lovely short play about compatibility, ADHD, guilt, erotica, and impressive vocabulary. I adore it! Scott Sickles always writes the best dialogue. I'm so glad this is part of a series, so I can spend more time with these characters!
