  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Still Born

At the centre of this brilliantly written piece is a hard hitting and heart wrenching topic that's it not always easy write about. The writer here has not only managed this brilliantly but the piece had me leaning forward in my chair to know what was going to happen next. I love the powerful, passionate and vulnerable female character the writer has created. Reading about them go through this incredibly hard set of circumstances I truly believe that this piece would be great to see on stage. I hope it makes a trip across to the UK some day!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Clara the Christmas Tree Angel (ten-minute play)

I say, what makes a Christmas play/film is that you have to have a moment of that 'warm fuzzy' feeling. This play has that in bucket loads! This is the first play I've read by this writer but its just wonderful! The two characters are wonderful along with the dialogue. The thing I love most is that at the centre of it all is a wonderful message of "no matter what else is going on in your life there is that one thing that keeps you remembering the good times!". A truly magical Christmas play!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Confirmation Bias

This piece is a balance between nervous tension and comedy as two men meet outside the house of a psychiatrist to be studied. The awkwardness between them is constructed brilliantly to the point that I dare say the audience would feel a little awkward themselves (in the best way). The writer has been able to pull his audience to feeling with his characters, which is what makes brilliant theatre for me.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Bear - Reborn

Vampire Bear belongs on TV as a Saturday morning cartoon show! I want to know more of his adventures and where his life takes him from here! Having read ALL of Chris's plays, I am very much aware of how he creates brilliant characters but I think Bear rules them all! The backstory of how he has come into being is just a tip of the iceberg for this character I think. I hope the writer will continue to explore his world and provide audiences with more about his story, maybe a full length play? There is certainly enough material!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Neighbours - A Script In A Day

We as humans have a natural curiosity about the world around us and the people who live in it. In this heart wrenching piece, Alice creates a wonderful variety of perspectives on the events that took place surrounding WWII and what it meant for his former neighbours. Its got sadness, insight and a naivety to it as the central character discovers more and more about the past. Its a wonderful exploration of what was a horrible time in history and has been constructed very well.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Journal

In my reading of Andrew's plays its become very apparent that he has a wonderful ability to create believable characters and envelop them in a brilliantly constructed story. The Journal is another example of that. He addresses several hard hitting topics for the young characters. I believe that this could be a wonderful performance by young actors and an eye opener for the audience.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Shady Lady: A Robust Blend of Privilege, Influence, and White-Collar Crime

I laughed so hard through this play my ribs hurt! Lisa has created a wonderfully absurd world within a non-profit organisation where those in power are hopeless and their underlings are working frantically to save them (and by association themselves). The very witty back and forth between the collection of wonderfully created characters creates this brilliant farcical journey. It needs a live production!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Time Travelers Can Apply Yesterday

Oh my lord my head hurts! That being said the swift back and forth dialogue between the characters had me smiling (even if I was confused). Its brilliantly written and in my opinion the writer deserves a medal for keeping track! I think it would be brilliant to see it done! A fabulous piece of work!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: We Are Cranston

Some sports fans will say that football is the most important thing in their lives and we would tell them they are being over dramatic. But in this piece the writer takes that premise and escalates it with a huge dose of tragedy, conflict of conscience and pressure. She has created a dark but amusing piece in the dialogue, even though the basic premise of football winning out over all feeling is quite a sad notion. Very well written by Lisa!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Bronte's Mom

In a world where people are quick to judge those who don't have children without thinking what the situation might be, Jacquelyn has created a heart warming and heart breaking snap shot of one couples relationship. As the audience, you see so much of what is going on in this couples life and I believe, if put on stage this would resonate with a lot of people. My experiences of Jacquelyn's plays is that she writes great pieces about relationships, and this is just another example!
