  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A TROUBLING STATE OF AFFAIRS

I had the great pleasure of hearing this play as part of a Sunday play reading session and it proves that Jack Levine is a master at writing plays that twist and turn with endings you never see coming. He constructs the stories of the characters brilliantly and makes you so invested in them that when the twist does come you are left astounded. I re-read this one before recommending as the play reading was a few months ago and it still impresses me now the way it did then!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: TRUE LOVE 2.0

The 'play within a play' idea is something I've seen many times before but the play Jack has created within this piece is a powerful portrayal of the dramas of high school coupled with the complexity of teenagers trying to figure out relationships and sexuality. It was a lot to cover in a short play and Jack did it incredibly well. To create an idea that's been done many times and give it this fresh coat of inspiration was inspired! Another brilliant example of Jack's work! Would be a great production for a school or higher educational facility.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: THE BET

Never has a character made my blood boil as fast as David did here but then I suppose that's the point of him. The construction of the characters as they make their way through this intriguing premise of a wager of murder is brilliantly done. We actually read the second part of this play before as a Sunday play reading and it was very intriguing then. Developing it in this way has only succeeded in making it better! Its a great piece that would do well at a festival with brilliant characters and keeping the audience guessing, perfect!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: TAP. TAP. TAP.

Never have three sounds created so much in one play! The writer builds the levels of suspense up spectacularly here. You spend the play thinking its one thing, then something else and then finally at the peak of the panic the brilliant ending is delivered. I've been a fan of Jack's work for a long time and I really think this is my favourite!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Use Only As Directed

This had me giggling from the beginning! In a world where we have drugs for everything and side effects for all those drugs, to see them plus a million other possibilities listed by this brilliantly written character can't not be funny. I think this would make a wonderful monologue for any actor and I think you will have your audience giggling at the start and in laughing tears by the end. Its a brilliantly constructed piece of humorous writing!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Mistletoe (A Monologue)

Well...that's the first time I've felt sorry for a plant. This is a brilliantly created new concept that takes the traditionally beautiful and loving idea of kissing under the mistletoe and flips it on its head. The writer has created a believable and sympathetic character in Mistel as she tells of her life with her owner and the sad journey they had together. You'll never look at mistletoe the same way again! Very original and very well written!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Story-Teller

I couldn't help but lean forward as the story was told in this brilliantly in depth piece with moments that you can't help but smile. The art of story telling is one that should be treasured and I believe the writer, in this case has told two brilliantly detailed and funny stories, both with a captivating plot and wonderfully created chracters. This is a great piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: SOME SCHOOL BUS DRIVER: A MONOLOGUE

Sadly a lot of what Omar says rings true of our society and I think the voice the writer has given Omar to paint the picture is truly wonderful and unique. As I read through I could picture this man, just wanting to drive his bus of peace and love while the parents of the children get angry about it. I feel like I want to apologise to Omar for what he goes through in this piece and for me that is truly wonderful theatre, that makes the audience feel as well as think and observe.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: RUFF! RUFF! RUFF! A One-Minute Play for Two Kids

This writer has a gift for writing about or from the perspective of animals. This is a brilliantly funny short piece that will resonate with any parent who has a child who wants a dog. The last lines had me laughing out loud so if that's what your looking for, you won't find better!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: FUZZY, FORMER POLICE K-9 PUPPY: A KID MONOLOGUE

As someone who's written a play where the dog is cunning in nature, it was so lovely to read a piece where the dog is just being a dog in the best possible way. As you read this play you can't help but see K-9's adorable face looking up at you, making you smile and sharing the infinite amounts of love he has with you. This is a brilliantly done piece and would make a wonderful performance that won't fail to make an audience smile.
