  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Forecourts And Facebook - A Love Story. Script In A Day

In a world where a simple 'post' on social media can rapidly escalate, as was the case here, Alice Josephs, once again has displayed her amazing skills as a writer. The two characters display our own inner monologues when vexing about a post or a message we've received (even without considering how the author meant it to be received or whether it was a mistake). You create that framed by an already frustrating powder keg of a fuel shortage and it could easily have exploded but the writer, once again wonderfully well, brings us back to a wonderful ending!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: CHERCHEZ LA FEMME

In a society where there is huge amounts of pressure on women from the media, their families and other women to have children because 'its the normal thing to do', this writer has created a wonderfully interesting analysis of that part of our society. The characters talk in a very casual and naturalistic way and if you close your eyes you could almost imagine them being your friends because the situations/problems the writer has created for them are very real possibilities for women every day. A brilliantly created and very poignant piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Cool Go Kart -- a monologue

Young Tommy has a wonderfully childlike view of the world and his potential step-brother Alex. The writer has created a young character with a wonderfully unique voice to the point that if you close your eyes you can see him in your minds eye. The commentary about the 'grown up' world around him will also ring a lot of bells with readers/audiences members as you smile to think about all the 'dumb stuff' you've been forced to endure as an adult. A piece that delights, humours and is relatable, all wonderfully done!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Snakes Before Square One

As someone who has been through the horrendous task of flat/house hunting I fully sympathise with the wonderful character that the writer has created here. This coupled with the swift back and forth of the dialogue makes this a wonderfully witty piece with a brilliant pace. Having the situation the characters find themselves in so relatable will capture the attention of any audience and for this reason it would prove a popular production.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Free Market Zone

Right from the opening stage directions you know you are in for an intense piece of theatre. We actually read this piece as part of our Zoom play readings and I remember being intrigued by it then. The opposing image of the innocence of the play being set in a toy shop vs what you actually see is sure to intrigue and audience and have them talking about it.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Night Before Christmas

Right from the back and forth between the narrators on page one I was smiling at this piece. From there the writer has taken the traditional tale of "The Night Before Christmas" and put a beautifully creative spin on it. The brilliant word puns and swift back and forth between the characters make the piece move along at a wonderful pace but keeps you giggling throughout. This would make a brilliant festive piece to any event!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Adam's Angels

A brilliant twist on the creation story and the relationship between Adam and Eve. You can't help but giggle throughout and some lines just had me in stitches. I loved the format, the idea, the characters and the means in which its narrated. What can I say, its a gem of a play!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Black, White, & Red All Over

The description almost sounded like the start of a joke "A penguin and a panda meet..." and the humour most definitely did not stop there. The witty word play back and forth between the two characters moves the piece through at a wonderful pace. Just when you've stopped laughing at one thing, along comes another! This piece is brilliantly done! If you're looking for a laugh out loud piece for a festival or an evening this is a great one! Terrence and Ling-Ling need a sequel! They need to go on the road together! :-)

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Death Wears a Costume

I can almost imagine this is how the Scooby Doo Gang started solving mysteries. The writer expertly takes some of the wonderful traditions of the murder mystery genre and couples with witty back and forth dialogue. The audience then get the joy of being guided through the chaotic events by a set of wonderfully crafted characters. This piece is sure to have an audience guessing right through and needs to be seen so they can do just that!

  • I was drawn to this play straight from the title and I loved it! To take a story so dominated by men and flip it on its head is brilliantly done. I think that this play could go far as, particularly in amateur dramatics there are so many well known plays that are dominated by men. The writer here has wrapped up a wonderful play with a brilliant twist that you'll enjoy!
