  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Stunning

This monologue is a wonderfully crafted piece of light and dark. As the father shares the wonderful memories of the young years he shared with his daughter you can't help but smile. Then as the piece goes through you realise there are dark undertones coming in, they almost sneak up on you and by the time you realise the piece is holding you in its spell. That is great theatre!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Deckchairs

This piece is truly genius. I found myself held between a feeling of laughter and sadness. I don't know if its just me but the way the characters seem to just accept this business of arranging the chairs almost rings to a moment where some of the passengers just accepted their fate. However, surrounding this the writer has created some truly brilliant characters and the back and forth of the dialogue is wonderfully witty and is sure to have you laughing. That plus the subtext (which I may have just imagined) makes this a wonderful piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Veil - Script In A Day

This is a wonderful salute to talented women everywhere! The writer beautifully constructs the characters of the stuff gentlemen of the gallery and with the help of a fabulous veiled lady she proceeds to take them and the society they represent down several pegs. The dialogue is wonderfully paced and witty and you find yourself wanting to cheer her on as you go through. Brilliant!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: LOVE AND OTHER AILMENTS

We had the great privilege of reading this as part of our play readings. I love the way Jack has created two wonderfully different characters from the witty and synical William and the Youthfully optimistic Teddy. The back and forth between the two of them makes up a wonderfully funny short play that could be a great audio or stage play.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Goddess Of The Hunt

From the very beginning I latched onto the characters analysis of the world of social media. As the play continues you are rewarded by one after another of brilliantly constructed characters and their witty dialogue. The story proceeds along many interesting twists and turns that has you dying to know more by the end of each page. Its a fabulous rollercoaster story that I would love to see...and dream to be in!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Samantha's Friend

Having been a part of a reading of this play I felt it wrench at my heart strings in so many ways. The piece is beautifully crafted to take the innocent idea of an imaginary through and put it through so many complex issues and brilliantly constructed characters. I could feel myself wanting to take Samantha and give her a hug by the end. Wonderfully done and could easily be a full length piece.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Legacy - A Script In A Day

"Death is not an opinion." has to be one of the greatest lines I've read in a play. This short but very intrieguing piece takes a hard look at the corruption that can be used when those with power and greed feel like it. The situation the farmer finds himself in is quite harrowing and the whole piece has a wonderful 'underdog vs the power' about it. Very well created and I think there is a movie idea in there!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: It Couldn’t Happen Here - A Script In A Day

Alice Josephs certainly has a gift for creating brilliantly tense pieces set in a highly volatile futuristic setting. I speant a lot of the piece wanting to know what was going to happen to her and wanting to know how things got to this stage. This is a piece that has you dying to know more. Another great piece and for it to be done in a day is just brilliant!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Cancelled - A Script In A Day

I could feel myself leaning further and further forward as this story of two people's lives and how they are intertwined, even after years of not seeing each other, unfolded. The piece was brilliantly intrieguing and it have a perfectly timed "oh my god" moment. There is also the perfect mix of emotion, which you can't help but feel for the narrator of the story. When placed in the hands of a strong actress this monologue would hold any audience captive!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Throne Too Far- Script In A Day

Listening to the Florian talk about the creation of Tinder and the other 'interesting' things that have happened since the king left made me giggle and the ending for me gave a great snapshot of what could happen if generations worked together. Wonderfully written with brilliant characters. An amazing achievement in a day!
