  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Little Black Dress

There are moments in a relationship that move it to another level and that is what Doug and Zoe are facing here. The discovery of a little black dress draws the audience in but the story then twists in a way you wouldn't expect as it draws you into the true complexity of their relationship. While the circumstances in which they find themselves questioning their relationship may be rare the raw and honest dialogue they share in the moment isn't. Relationships all have moments that can change or define them, and that is what John has created perfectly!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Kynges Games

History brought to life! That is the simple description of this fascinating adventure that George has chosen to explore. The play brings to life worlds of political rivalry, treachery and calculated manoeuvres that weave the tapestry of history as we know it. The story is told by wonderfully constructed characters (that I want to play most of) and is sure to draw in both the old and the young alike. So, if you are looking for a meticulously researched and brilliantly constructed tale from the history books then this is the one for you!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Keep The Music Going

Oh my god this piece tugged at my heart strings in an amazing way. The premise is a simple one, two people feeling alone in their separate spaces and forming a bond to overwrite that loneliness. However, the way this wonderfully emotional and powerful piece is anything but simple. Steven has created two amazing characters for an audience to watch their relationship develop to the point where you really want to see how it progresses and you can't help but feel for them, which for me makes great theatre!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Kangaroo Boy

In a world where being different can be met with fear and hostility this play is just what the doctor ordered! Its easy when you are being ridiculed for your differences that you are the only person in the world to feel that way but in this play Toby creates a lovely touching scene where Jordan is able to use his own experiences to help out a fellow class mate suffering with the same thing. The play provides a great example about how we should treat other people, different or not and sheds a bit more light into the world!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: KINDNESS

When John's three characters initially meet it stems from a moment of hatred and violence but we are soon shown how people should treat others when they are new arrivals in a country. The compassion and almost poetic language these three characters use as they talk about their experiences of being people from different nations and of different believes can't fail to make you feel something and I think will educate an audience. Its as relevant as it is poetic and provides emotional thought from the very beginning.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Katharine Hepburn Lived Here

There's an element of 'never meet your heroes' in this wonderfully witty piece in the sense that what Nicky believes she wants is put sharply into perspective when she meets her hero but its done in such a clever way that will have any aspiring performer really thinking about what its like to be in the world of acting. Its a piece of wonderfully witty and real dialogue and offers three great roles for women, including one of an acting legend!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Janmadin

Of all the directions I saw a surprise party going in, this was not one of them, which is what makes it such a brilliantly constructed piece. As the story unfolds and you as the audience discover piece of the tale you are desperate to know more! That, coupled with the balance of amusing and tragic moments makes this a piece that will leave an audience both filled with emotion and smiling in places. As a piece of theatre its a wonderfully delicate balancing act with very relevant themes in our current social climate, perfect for production!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Jack the Stripper

The array of topics explored in this piece is fascinating, when you think its about the humour of keeping secrets it reveals there is so much more to the conversation between this mother and her two children as she discovers about them and they in turn discover about her. Its a great example of relationship comedy and while the situation may seem a bit more 'out there' the idea of approval and doing what you love is something that will resonate with a lot of people. Its a piece that offers wonderful humour and emotion in equal measure.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: juice

Theatre is a world that is meant to be flexible and can be created in a multitude of different ways. That is the premise Mackenzie has provided here. 'Juice' offers the audience the chance to experience theatre in many different ways. Even when reading it you get to the end and know you've experienced something and the interpretation of that something is something I could spend some time discussing. If that's just what you get from reading then its evident this piece was born to be seen (and experienced) live.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: just jelly beans

Its impressive that Sarah has taken such a dark and devastating event in a persons life and given it a unique twist. Its easy to see the idea of jelly beans being something sweet and innocent but you couple that with the emotional background of what is being said and you are left with something amazingly powerful that offers so much in a performance and would make a great piece for an audition.
