Jillian does a wonderful job of building the atmosphere for this piece right from the opening stage description! From there you are invited into Clara's home, a young woman with a fixation for horror movies but when Kendra and Mike arrive you start to learn there is more about Clara and her story than meets the eye. I won't say any more but its a wonderful piece that twists and turns brilliantly, all its missing now is a production!

Bullying is not limited to children. That is something that Dan explores brilliantly here. The formatting of the piece as it flits back and forth between the perspective of the child and the adult would make a great performance element as we, as an audience are drawn into Krystal and Lisa's stories. As the story of their journey into a new school/job plays out you can't help but feel for them and by the end, I wanted to cheer for them. My heartiest congratulations to Dan on creating a piece that will educate on the subject of bullying.

You know you're onto a winner when just the list of characters makes you smile! From there I went from smiles to out loud giggles as I was introduced to brilliantly constructed British characters with lines that have to be some of my favourites EVER but I won't say what they are, you have to read them! It's just a great play from start to finish with wonderful characters, dialogue that destroys the fourth wall and a story that won't fail to have you smile. Congrats Mr. Sickles, as a British person I applaud your character creation!

AW! Such a wonderfully cute and adorable story with a wonderful twist! Just when you think you know about all the creatures of the sea (both fantasy and not) a playwright like Hannah comes along and gives you a new twist on the situation! At its heart, this is a piece about relationships and accepting the person you love for who they are and that is all I will say to not give more away. It's a lovely piece with a story that won't fail to make you go "AW!", it certainly did me.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Seventh Inning Stretch (Ten Minute)

I loved so many things about this play! Despite the horrible moment that led up to where it starts, we, as an audience get to see the wonderfully supportive way that Brenda and Stuart try to pull their friend back from the decision of "never leaving the house again". Mixing that in with a look at how much social media has influenced our lives makes a fascinating commentary on our society. A proposal was once a private thing and now it gains 60,000 views and the world is entitled to an opinion. It's brilliantly constructed with fabulous witty dialogue!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Listen In

Oooooo! I was leaning forward from the very beginning of reading this piece. Due to the nature of the piece you, as an audience member are made to listen 'in between' the lines, the added focus of which increases the tension in an already tension fuelled piece. In a world where anyone and everyone is listening having a plan is dangerous and talking about that plan even more so. That is the idea surrounding this brilliantly written play which would make a wonderful production for an intimate space where the audience can feel part of the secret!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Backstage Mystery

Aw! I have to say I felt for Kevin in the end but I won't tell you why. Rebecca has expertly constructed the world of backstage theatre. As the actors gather ready for the curtain to go up we, as the audience get to be the fly on the wall for wonderfully witty back and forth dialogue. Coupling this with the tension rollar coaster that will leave the audience constantly wanting to know if the missing performer is going to turn up and its sure to have them on the edge of their seats. Would make a great performance!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Never Out Of Styles

Well! Chris certainly knows how to create an impassioned love story. I was so eager to find out what was going to happen with the characters it felt like a soap opera in the best way, I was desperate to know how it was going to end. Couple that with the wonderfully emotional moments and the brilliantly timed twist and its a fabulous creation that Harry Styles would be honoured to have his songs as a part of it. Could make such a great piece for young people looking for a newer style of musical theatre.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: QUICK FAVOR (A MONOLOGUE)

As an audience we are given a treat of being witnesses of this rare and unique moment in Rollo's life. As I read I could find myself drawn into what he was saying and when I read it out loud to myself it became very apparent that the character had been given a wonderfully natural and funny way of speaking as he guides the audience through this moment in his life. Rollo is a character I wanted to know more about by the end, which is always a great feeling to leave in your audience after a monologue.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: At Long Last The Story Of How Captain Hook Came To Be

I always love a twist on a story and Chris has created not only a brilliant twist but a wonderful character in Captain Hook as he explains how he came to be. As you read the tragic circumstances in which Hook became the villain of never land and I'll be honest, the story won't feel the same again. Monologues to me have always been about the telling of brilliantly weaved stories from believable and well constructed characters and this is a perfect example of that. Its a great chance for an actor to present a twist on a classic!
