  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Final Scene

There are a standardised list of ingredients that a truly great horror story and Christopher has mixed those ingredients to create this wonderful 'last moments' story. Taking the fast paced and terrified dialogue between two brilliantly created characters and the funny use of horror movie clichés is just fabulous! For me I had my heart in my throat as Christopher heightens and heightens the tension before a great ending! A perfect piece for a dark and spooky Halloween night!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Barn Wood and Blue Roses (FULL LENGTH VERSION)

When reading a play there is nothing better than one that invokes great images in the mind and that is what Jacquelyn has done here. The idea of sheltering in this beautifully and creatively described world from the harsh realities of life is something a lot of people can relate to. In this play Jacquelyn has done a wonderful job balancing between the two. Its a play that can make you smile and imagine, although it tugs at the heartstrings. Chelsea and Devon are lucky characters, to live in this wonderful world that Jacquelyn has created for them.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Joey Age 12

The Joey plays are the plays that just keep giving. The story is utterly devastating and heartbreaking but its told with such passion and creative care that you WANT to know how it plays out and you feel so much for Joey as a character. Its a piece that will wrench at the heart, there are no two ways about it but for me theatre that emotes an emotional response is just as good as theatre designed to entertain, if not more so. That is what makes the Joey series great theatre and a story people should hear.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: YULETIDE TRADITIONS (a 10 minute play)

I don't care that I read this play in October because it was worth it! Christmas traditions are always complicated, especially when you are bringing together two people, each with traditions of their own. Marj initially creates a wonderfully funny back and forth regarding the 'right' way to do Christmas before giving you a truly beautiful ending that (for me) frames what Christmas is truly all about. If you are looking for a festive piece for your Christmas show this year then this one is perfect. Your audience won't fail to leave feeling warm inside. Just a lovely play!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Tiger's Blood (10-Minute Version)

Tiger's Blood is a piece of discovery. Dreams is something we all analyse and wonder why we dream but in this case it has such sad associations you can't help but feel for Skyler and Bri. Its a wonderful piece that exudes such real and heart wrenching emotion its impossible not to feel something (or if you are like me, shed tears). To love someone and know their deepest fears and be able to discuss them as openly as these characters do is wonderful to read and that's what makes this an amazingly powerful piece of theatre.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Angel Flight

Loss of any kind is utterly devastating and the emotional wave you get through reading this wonderful piece very much showcases that. Joe has presented you with a woman who has experienced a horrendous loss and for a while you sit and think one thing before he gives it a wonderful twist that changes the meaning of what you are seeing. It takes a gifted writer to be able to do that well and I believe that this play is a prime example of that. Its no wonder this play has already won competitions, another wonderful piece Joe!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Almighty Shame

The world of show business is never easy, particularly when you are looking to be worshiped for it. That is the amusing twist that Christopher has given us in this brilliantly funny ten minute piece. A conversation between talent agent and client with a brilliant twist of the supernatural. I couldn't help but giggle at the witty commentary from 'Mr Z', and I'm sure it will be the same for many others. Would make a great piece for a festival!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: BIRTHRIGHTS...and WRONGS (a 10 minute play)

The act of giving birth has often been considered from the side of the mother and the child but in this unique piece, the perspective has been twisted to that of the people outside the room. This is a lovely play with moments of heartache and humour in equal measure. You feel for both characters as they wait for their lives to change with the expectant arrivals and you as an audience member are privileged to witness how they, in turn change each others lives. Its wonderfully written play that is sure to be wonderful when performed.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Armrest (a monologue)

The sad thing is, you read about these kinds of situations but in this case the invisible woman Dani/Danny is talking to is really taking the piss! Scott has not only created a great piece to read, as he does most often, but part way through I wanted to stand up and tell this inivisible woman to leave him alone and if she doesn't like the situation she can get off the plane and wait! To feel this empassioned about a characters is a truly unique gift that Scott is just brilliant at! A truly great piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: UNVERIFIED

Oh, never did a piece of theatre run so true of social commentary. In a world where we are (sometimes unnaturally) fascinated with Twitter and other Social Media platforms, Adam has created this great piece that forces the reader to look in the mirror and maybe see themselves. Its a piece that entices thought and made me smile too. By the time I got to the end I thought 'maybe I should walk away from the computer for a bit', after I made sure this brilliant piece for the recommendation it deserved of course.
