  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Teddy

This Teddy brought to my mind the sense of guilt you have when throwing/giving away an old toy. Jackie makes her audience consider something that you don't think about, that the toys you consider part of your past have feelings, memories and they do miss you. The relationship between man and teddy bear is beautifully captured and then wrapped in the hear breaking reality he currently faces around him. It has beautiful moments of companionships, moments where you can laugh out loud and moments that will tug at your heart strings. Wonderfully written and makes me miss my bears!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Breakwater

NO! I normally love a suspenseful ending but in this case you find yourself desperate to know what fate awaits Monty, especially after the lovely tender moment between him and his loving wife. The want for a partner to take care of the significant other in their life is a beautiful thing in itself but then the writer gives you wonderful memories between the two, all underlined by the threat of serious health risks. I read through the first time unsure what to feel and I think that's what makes this piece, its an emotional roller coaster!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Twisted House

A great thriller/horror play grabs you right from the beginning and in the opening scene to 'The Twisted House' I was leaning forward with curiosity as to what events led to me, as the audience being there. From there you are catapulted into the twists (no pun intended) and turns of the tale of the Christensen House. The Twisted House for me was an experience through reading. I felt shivers, Goosebumps coupled a desperate curiosity to know how things were to unfold. Ross rewards his audience with this tension loaded thriller right the way to the very last word!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Lazarillo de Tormes

Theatre, at its heart, is a means of creative story telling and that is what Melissa has done here. She transports her audience to far off lands to hear the tale, as told by Lazarillo. Through the story she allows the characters to tell and show the audience story, turning it into a great experience for all involved. Its a wonderfully created story that I'd not heard before and was intrigued by from start to finish.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Right For The Part

The idea of us making choices about our careers is a theme I can well relate to, as would many others I imagine. From there the piece descends into wonderfully hilarious chaos as an actor proceeds to jump through hoops for a director, desperate to land a part in, what is quite frankly, an intriguing (if very busy) play. The way the dialogue bounces between the two allows you to see the two in this audition as one searches and one tries to prove himself. Another great piece by John that performers (and writers in this case) will relate to.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Body Politics (featuring a smattering of impressions throughout portraying girls in love and on drugs in east and west villages)

The writer takes relationships by the reigns here and presents you with a powerful and emotion stirring piece that tells the stories about their relationships and the links to narcotics. The writer creates dialogue that makes you think and question relationships in a way you never thought you would and it stirs up powerful images which any audience will find intriguing and emotional. Performed I would say it would make a powerful piece for both actors and audience.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: V Formation

Having written a play about seagulls, I was intrigued by this work and it definitely delivered. I will never be able to watch birds flying in formation with the same perspective again. Its a brilliant piece that will have you giggling in places but at the same time, you can't ignore the political dynamic with this flock. Its a ruthlessness of leadership that won't have been seen since Caesar! Its a great combination of themes that makes you wonder...will the formation make it? A wonderful minute that I encourage you to enjoy!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Quack

We've read this play as part of our Sunday night play reading and it is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! I was charged with reading the role of Jack and you know a play is funny when half way through you forget the tune to a song! This is a prime example of how George brings joy to others through his writing and I think it could make a brilliantly funny piece to stage, as well as a warning as to how far method acting can descend...its truly QUACKERS in the best way! (Sorry couldn't resist!)

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A FACE ON THE PIG (a 10 minute play)

"Only a good friend would tell you that." is the central moral to this wonderful creation. While the events that have led to this conversation are heart breaking and you can't help but feel for Rosalie. Through this play you are then introduced to the wonderfully empowering Sophie as she lifts her friend from the pit she has found herself in. This play is a comforter in itself. Its got wonderful powerful speech that made me feel more positive. It could be a great and powerful performance for two actresses and celebrates girl power in the best way!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Continents Apart

An intriguing conversations between penguins relating to a dream and what it could mean. Its a great gift to bring characters to life as non-humans and Matthew has done a great job of it here. Each of the penguins has a unique personality and perspective of the situation they find themselves. Its a piece that can entertain and intrigue.
