  • Christopher Plumridge: Swatches

Oh my, real tears just reading this touching one act play.
All parents to be must imagine who their expectant child will be, cute, clever, maybe even gothic.
No spoilers here, but have tissues handy as the table turns. Then, just like the swath represents, there is a glimmer of all colours of the rainbow towards the end.
    Beautiful.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Sensories

Unique and clever, this play sets itself up as the first episode of a series, I hope, for there is so much more to work with here.
Smell can be so evocative and Sam explores this avenue to great effect.

Do yourself a favour by listening to the great production by Gather by the Ghostlight Podcast!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Reasonable Doubt

It must be incredibly tough sitting in as a jury member, faced with making a tough decision based on two strong arguments, I don't fancy it thanks.
In this two hander, Philip cleverly takes us one way, then another, then yet another. Reading this I felt like a jury member myself, just waiting to see where it ends up.
    A excellent play? - Guilty!

  • Christopher Plumridge: 12:34am

This is one hell of a road trip ha! Played out at lighting speed with perhaps some clever film being played out on a screen upstage, this would be a hilarious play to watch!
    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Out in the Noonday Sun

Having spent some time in Rhodes in the heat of the noonday sun, (really only mid-day to us Brits) I can clearly imagine the scene in which this slick horror unfolds. What starts as a Shirley Valentine-esque meet cute, soon turns very dark indeed, with as many twist and turns as of the little cobbled streets of this historic town.
A timeless play, in my head I took this to the 11th century.
Also, this would be such a fun challenge to stage, love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Lions and Tigers and Bears

As a Brit, I simply can't get my head around the fact that American schools even have shooter drills, let alone actual shootings.
In this short, Scott shows us the absolute innocence of youth caught up in such awful events, youth just wanting to play with their soft cute and plush toy animals. Surely it's time America woke up to this?
A troubling yet beautiful short play.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Sanctuary

Totally the funniest 'Cow in New York' play I've ever read! I love how quickly the relationship between Vinny and the cow unfolds, it's sweet, mooooving.
Aside, there is a story of ethics here too, and these characters naturally develop a meat free option.
    Brilliant and hilarious!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Pre-War

Tender and caring, this is a lovely short play on a meeting of two women with equal sadness, generations apart. We're left believing that they will form an incredible bond.
    Beautifully understated.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Vanilla

This is a perfect example of how to say so much in so very few words. Funny and poignant, VANILLA would be a great choice for a series of pandemic shorts.

  • Christopher Plumridge: My Dog Has Some Thoughts About Mr. Benedict

Dogdammit this is one funny monologue!
Waffles is a very intelligent, sassy, learned labradorite, she keeps a close watch on the neighbourhood and guards her humans well.
As with all hero's, she needs a nemesis... hers is Mr Benedict from next door.
No spoilers here, but I LOVE this clever Lab, and hope she has more chronicles to follow.
And she even managed to resist the C word!

    Busser brilliance once again!
