  • Christopher Plumridge: A King and His Throne

  • Christopher Plumridge: In our Walk (One-minute play)

A lovely short snapshot of time, a gaze out of a London hotel window to the streets below, to pick out a small handful of the millions of stories taking place. Something I find myself doing in this city and others, wondering and guessing about the myriad of lives and their own unique stories. While doing so, surely someone is looking up into our windows, into our minds.
    Intriguing.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Truth or Dare

Four students in a college dorm start playing truth or dare, you can see where this is going... or maybe this reader has watched too many of the wrong type of films.
This play goes in a completely different directions to hilarious results!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Tucumcari Tonite!

This is what can happen when two conflicting strangers spend forced time with each other, and the result is a fine, slick play by Philip. Once again the playwright gifts us with so much back story that you buy into both characters and wish a much brighter future for them. And we can all relate to the dream of a motel room after several nights under the stars.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Betrayal

It's as if Tarantino wrote a betrayal scene. High stakes from the get go and as the story unfolds, it's not so clear where this is heading. No spoilers here, give it a read.

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Story of a Laundry Girl

I'm in awe of any writer who can conjure up such a detailed life story in just a few pages, which Rachel has done to great effect here.
The subject is harrowing, and only gets worse. It's tough to read and tougher to see staged as we all know that whereas this story is fiction, it's so very close to the true horrors that went on at the time. What's worse is that this still goes on in 2025, in some countries.
    Excellent.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Face To Facebook (a ten minute play)

Thans Mark for highlighting everything i hate about Facebook in one short play!
This is clever stuff though, I like that this social media is personified, getting between this couple on their first date.

To those who post pictures of their dinners, read this play then go out to the real world!

I'd love to see this staged.

  • Christopher Plumridge: FARVEL, OPHELIA

Oh, if only Shakespeare had written his plays in this style I would have studied them a lot more at school!
This is a hilarious take on the famous painting, which I'll never be able to see in the same light again!
    Brilliant!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Family Visitation (Ten Minute)

FAMILY VISITATION is such a heart breaker of a short play. Yes it's set in the 80s, centuring the stigma of the time, AIDS. Yet you can't help but know that this still goes on in 2025.
This poor young man wants to say his final goodbye to his lover, and being on first name terms with the nurse this should be straightforward. Yet this nurse soon shows her true, ugly colours.

A very poignant play with a gut wrenching final stage direction.

    Beautifully written.

  • Christopher Plumridge: For a Sunbeam -- a monologue

Throughout the building up of this monologue one word kept going through my mind....
No no no no no NOOOOO !
Although darkly funny in places, this play has real sadness in its heart and audiences will certainly feel for young Nate.
Let's hope Mom stops him before the day if reckoning!
