  • Christopher Plumridge: Swimming

We have all fantasised about a future with someone we know and adore from afar, but what happens if this dream becomes reality?
Here the playwright shows us just this, in beautiful, sweet and natural style. This is such a sweet play, I have no doubt this couple will make it for the long term. Lovely!

  • Just a weed? A weed? No! These are tumble weeds and they surround Sawyer and Skyler. What's left to do? Hide under the bed of course!
Great intensity throughout, and not a bad dad joke to be heard (think about it!).
    Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: To Love Alone

It's true, most valentines day cards are cheesy in their messages and expensive for what they are. Jill and Curt quickly agree this in this cute meet and their dialogue flows effortlessly and fluidly. Is it possible they might be falling in love....? But hold on, aren't they buying valentines cards for other lovers....hmmm?
Read this play to find out. Very good.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Dream Woman

I am a fan of Wilkie Collins, so naturally I was drawn to this piece. I was not disappointed, in fact I'm taken aback. Julia has penned a tight, taught and tense adaptation which closely follows the essence of the original authors work, and along with true gothic suspense which makes this a truly gripping and frightening play. I would pay good money to see this performed.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Tax Preparation for Dogs (3 short plays about the hard-of-hearing)

Surely this is a lost Monty Python sketch found in an attic many years after the show finished!? Tax Preparation for Dogs, (and why not, cats won't help them.) is a hilarious play, as Andy, a bit hard of hearing, helps each client in turn with their taxes.
So, I'm trying hard to write something intellectual here, but I'm still too busy laughing about every page and the final line had me scoffing out loud!
This is Mr Busser at his funniest best, that's the dog-gone truth!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Hundred Acre War

So, the writing prompt 'Take a known story and change one element' was taken to wonderful extremes in this complete reworking of Winnie The Pooh. For now, Winnie is an evil warlord killing any soldier who tries to attack. But Christopher Robin is at the helm, surely he will win over this fearful bear? Or will it take the hapless but hopeful Roo to win the day.
Read this for yourself, better still have a hoot and stage it!
I believe this play would also lend itself to an audio recording.
    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Wish You Were Here

Oh the romance! Where better for a cute meet than in a Parisian Park at twilight as the street lamps light with the rythym of the city?
Full of scintillating atmosphere, this meeting of strangers is beautiful, their plans for their lives are dreamily gorgeous.
I now wish I could go for coffee and croissants instead of work.
    Beautiful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Touch/Starved

TOUCHED/STARVED is such a desperately sad yet beautiful monologue of deep loss. Such incredible detail fills the protagonists thoughts as they touch their finger where a ring once lived.
Never before have I seen such loss and so much yearning for new touch from someone so starved of love and intimacy, as this Lonely One.
    Excellent work.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Lilies

There is so much back story steeped in pain and hurt within this ten minute two hander. The dialogue between Marie and Turner is taught, tense and emotions run wild.
This is a superb play which will have audiences engrossed, and I fully intend to read more work from this playwright.

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Church of Guduzi

We are often approached by people trying to promote their religion, to many it is a nuisance. In this hilarious short play, Ros is in no mood for such a preacher, so she decides instead to have fun with them. What follows is brilliant theatre right up to the funny twist at the end. I would love to see this play staged!
