  • Christopher Plumridge: THE FAIRY SHOEMAKER, A Short Radio Play

I love this short play, and I recommend anyone who reads it to read it in an Irish accent, for it will all make sense that way! A young man meets a leprechaun on the way to a date, but a scoundrel is up to no good, will these too be able to come together to thwart this thief? This would make a wonderful radio play, to be sure!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Single Ladies Cozy Murder Book Club

Ha, this is one hell of a Zoom meeting! These ladies are so much fun, dark fun that is, because they somewhat life up to their reading groups name!
The demise of a poor duck holds the conversation until a rather gruesome twist towards the end.
Oh, and a line from Sandy made me nearly spit my wine out in laughter!
This is one very funny zoom play!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Just Dessert

This is such a sweet and tender play. JUST DESSERT sees two siblings trying to carry on with life and tradition while their mother lays ill.
I particularly appreciate how the characters are simply named A and B, giving the option of a whole myriad of casting possibilities.
    A very nice short play.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Curiosity

No matter what backgrounds we come from, or our financial situations, we all have fears and insecurities. This is proved in a very clever play by Brian, which reads as a two person monologue, of sorts.
CURIOSITY is a tense two hander, unique and gripping. Very good!

  • Right from lift off the tensionnin this play is immense, and it only builds. Poor Sam is stranded somewhere, he has no idea where and no-one to help him. Even the computer manual is of no assistance.
Jake states this was written for Zoom, but I believe this would also be very effective staged. Very good!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Faerie Ring

I never fail to be mesmerised by Jacquies fantasy plays, she has a gift for creating stunning new worlds in just a few opening words and building such poignant tales within them.
Here, a young mother at the end of her tether, finally finds her own mother, lost in a world of faries. Will she join her?
The real beauty in this piece comes towards the end, so read it for yourself, better still produce it. Stunning!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Scholarship

While I'm not familiar with the bureaucracies involved in scholarships to US schools, I still can't help but feel sorry for young Mel and their frustrations on their first day, of what should be an exciting future. This is a well written short, as Mel becomes more wary as they try to fight a ridiculous system. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: DANCING WITH UNICORNS (a 10 minute play)

Being one of four siblings I'm sure we must have put our mother through all this every week, I must go back to her and apologise!
This is a fun short play which highlights just how much of a rock Mom's can be, and you can't blame her for drifting off into a utopia with a unicorn. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Date Night

Oh the fiery tempers of this couple on their date night will be a sight to behold for any audience, and surely the other guests will be taking about their fellow dinners for weeks to come. The accusations fly, tempers and tension raise in bitter union until the revealed is served up. Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Beautifully So

BEAUTIFULLY SO, is a perfectly titled short play where Christopher meets a beautiful stranger for a one night stand. Their dialogue ebbs and flows, the interaction between them at times is intense and it's fun watching Emma control the situation. Then the final twist will have you smiling, as it did me. Something tells me these 'strangers' have a hot night ahead of them!
