  • Christopher Plumridge: It'll be Fine

IT'LL BE FINE, a phrase that is often said but difficult to hear after a loss of a good friend, and losing a close friend can be as devastating as the loss of a close family member. Molly tackles this subject sensitively and with such realism that I became one of these close friends. The grief is real, the tension rules throughout this excellent play, which I can see working as a screenplay too. Gripping, loving, sad... excellent!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Shadow (short play)

Oooh, straight to the point! In two short pages one big twist hits you unexpectedly. Good job there is a witness.... A great sketch!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Venus Needs Men

So many productions across the earth struggle to find their leading man, this is not a new problem. But it seems this is a much bigger issue on Venus with its many thousands if underground theatres. Hence, Lucas finds himselves transported to this far away planet with the sole purpose to head the cast.
What I find funniest in this hilarious play is Lucas' plain acceptance of his situation! Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Recess

I have just listened to a wonderful recording of this play on Gather by the Ghost Light podcast. It's such a sweet story of childhood innocence and how they perceive adult life. The flashes forward were a nice touch too, it gives the audience a glimpse into their futures. It is a very nice short play which will give a great opportunity to two young actors.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bar Car Reverie

Wow, what a high speed train ride of a play, or play-dream this is! A great challenge to stage I'm sure, but with such a slick script it would surely be worth it. The whole premise is very clever and leaves so much open to question. Very good!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Interview

Oh the brutal honesty of this job interview is brutally funny! It would be so much fun to perform and indeed to watch these two performers attempt to hold it together whilst delivering their lines as strait and formal as possible! There are some wonderful lines in this, many in fact, every line is perfectly honest. Wonderful!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Do You Have the Time?

This is such a funny short conversation between strangers on a station platform. On this occasion, the man, in all innocence simply asks a fellow traveler if they have the time, what ensues is hilarious! I would love to see this performed.
Do you have the time to read this? Make time, it's great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Coff(ee)in

A blind date in a coffee shop late evening, with blood red coffee? A great start to a fun play where hunter meets hunted.
The interaction between these two is cute, affectionate even, for a while you believe there may well be a second date, then the ending, of which I will not give away, is both fitting and very funny! Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Honest Interview

Haha, if only all job interviewers were this honest we wouldn't have to sit through six long months of probation finding our feet in a new office environment!
The interviewer has taken a little red pill which makes her only tell the truth, and the way the truth is told is brilliantly matter of fact in a public announcement sort of way, which would make this a fun role to play.
Something tells me this candidate might be reconsidering.... if she gets out safely. Close to the mark but in a fun way!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Muses Of Humanity

THE MUSES OF HUMANITY is perfectly titled. In the modern age where consent is key, sometimes an obstacle to art, Jaxson poses this argument in a very clever way. Artists and photographers naturally want to push the boundaries, they have a right to, but at what cost?
This will have audiences debating this question for some while. Chilling and excellent.
