  • Christopher Plumridge: Dragged Out

This is such a beautiful two hander which had me close to tears, happy tears, by the end! What a privilege to be a fly on the wall as Gavin's mother arrives at his apartment a day early (mother's have a right to do this, unannounced!)
Acceptance can be tough for some older generations, but there is far more depth to this wonderful story.
I would love to see this play staged and not giving away the ending I would love to see how Mom gets on in the scene that would follow! Thanks for the happy tears!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Apothecary

Dark and gothic, I see this as a worthy scene in Sleepy Hollow or His Dark Material. Daniel sets the scene swiftly and expertly, so we are drawn into this short play instantly. Strong characters make it believable, but the stage directions really set it off, especially the last at the end of the play, which makes me wonder just what will happen the next morning. Excellent!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Dungeons, Dragons and Daquiris

Have you ever wondered what dwarfs, dragons and other mythical beings get up to when not fighting in films or story books? No, neither have I. But anyway here's the answer, they organise posh soirée's in suburbia, at least according to Rachel in this subtly funny two hander, which would be great fun to stage!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Follow the Fireflies (monologue)

Oh my, in just two pages Christian and Our New Friend introduce us to a new world where beauty and sadness intertwine, become one. Subtly and intentionally our new friend makes the audience feel guilty, yet at the same time forgives. This is a stunning monologue!

  • Christopher Plumridge: BLISSFULLY YOURS

This is such a sweet two hander written expertly by the talented Levine. I felt the build up was a perfect (bus) journey to the beautiful monologues by each new love bird. The audience will see these two come together but will be left wondering if they make it long term, and if you're like me you'll be totally rooting for them!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Fuck Dog, or, Who's A Good Boy

Evert part of this short play is hilarious, right from the description of set design and characters, to the funny ending, which the cat finishes with the perfect line. This dog is clever, witty, observant and above all, a good boy!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Sentimental Journey

Susanna has painted such a beautiful picture of affection and loves lost in this heart-rending two hander. How many stories like this must have come out of the second world war. Such a beautiful short play, do give it a read!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Sisters from the Same Mister

Debra takes a difficult situation, in this case a meeting of siblings previously unknown to each other, and tackles it sensitively and realistically, there's no Disney reunion here and in reality how likely would that be in this situation? Its difficult, awkward, but slowly gets back on track as the three sisters come to terms with each other and their respective parents pasts. Very good!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Sex Lives of Circus Freaks

Sometimes I'm drawn to and purchase a bottle of wine just because the label attracted me, only to be let down by sub standard wine. Equally I was drawn to this play by its title, but inside I enjoyed a sophisticated glass of dark humour, subtle notes of sarcasm and a full body of young love. I enjoyed Rebekahs character the most as she has the funniest lines, and cheeky Cassidy is a delight. Pop the cork to this vintage Floyd-Priskorn and enjoy its suble notes!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Leaving

This is clever, such a fast paced monologue which feels like it's a transcript of a recording made by this wife and young mother. To me it seems as if it were written in one take with little editing, the writer just let her protagonist rant. A great piece for a strong female actor. Wonderful.
