  • Christopher Plumridge: Cracked Slipper

Ah now! This scenario of the clumsy Prince Charming treading on the glass slipper left behind would certainly throw up a different ending to the whole fairy tale. But I admire his logic in just trying to find a lady with only one glass shoe......full-proof idea? Hmmm?
    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Panic

This short play is brilliant, right up my street in its silliness! The author quickly says the scene and you imagine yourself in the audience wondering whether you need to panic or not? I love this play!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Lady or The Tiger?

Ooooh, which door to open? Ha, this play is darkly funny the type of which you feel guilty for finding it amusing, for behind this the man is in a very dire situation. This play gives an important message too.
But I'm left wondering how the captor knows so much? There's so much left in unanswered, leaving scope for a longer play, but as it is its a gem!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Trash Night

Haha, Cole has successfully described the moment my wife and I turn into bed as if she knows us well! Totally relatable, her mind races with unnecessary random thoughts for an hour while I....... zzzz

  • Christopher Plumridge: Romero and Juliet (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

This is a bitter sweet war time memory play set beautifully, as we see the characters young and old telling their version of events and letters.
What I found most interesting is that the author throws in a curveball when young Juluiette states that 'distance does not make the heart grow fonder, i need someone.....here'. This must have crossed the minds of some left behind in war, I'm sure. A great short play!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Flowers for a Dead Girl

FLOWERS FOR A DEAD GIRL is genuinely disturbing, gripping and excellent. As a play, staged thoughtfully and skillfully, would hold the audience in their seats, not wanting it to end, such is the tension and intensity. But I see this as a screenplay which really needs to land on the desks of some top notch movie producers because there is so much to be done with the story, its characters and its creepy creatures. I'd pay to be at the premier! Excellent work Lindsay.

  • Christopher Plumridge: GRANNY LOLA: A MONOLOGUE

Her name is Lola, and she's a go girl! Wow, this Lola is determined to have her night of fun with the girls, she's fun, sassy, silly and sexy! In her monologue, (or should I say non stop barrage for she hardly pause for breath?!) she tells us pretty much all we need to know about her life, her family and her current situation so credit to the author for cramming so much in so expertly into a monologue. I hope Lola gets to wear her skinny jeans and hit the casino some day soon!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Chickens! - Part of the "United Plays of America" Anthology (Delaware)

This is a fun little chicken play, which is a sentence I've never written before! It appeals to me because at their age lots of very similar quandaries raced through my mind and troubled my teenage brain, so fearing what will happen to 200 chickens when their human dies has set me off again, I won't sleep tonight wondering how I'm going to home them all, do I have enough chicken wire?? Great fun!

  • This is a very moving, sad and almost desperate short play by Claudia. I admire how the author makes the bear palpable, he epitomises her hopes and fears. Staged with an actor, or actors varying in size will be so powerful, showing the audience the full severity of Alice's fears. I feel for Alice, I know she wants this long planned for trip to Italy, but will she go? Beautiful and moving.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Three Characters in Search of They Know Not What

I've seen the play that this play is based on and to be honest it did not make much sense to me! So I will comment on what I have read here in this short play by Samantha. I do not have a secretary but I do have a wife, so therefore I have a secretary! I love the regular stage direction 'Mother and Secretary share a look' !
