  • Christopher Plumridge: Point Blank

Wow, what a stand-off this is, in a very Tarrantino-esque play by Hodges! This is as much a stand off as it is a dance, a strange power struggle of weapons and words. Just when I think all will be well as the spouse appears, her arrival gives this tale a darker twist, so it's left to youthful logic to sort it all out! Gripping and in its own way, darkly funny!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Rehoming

This is a heartbreaking play of a child trying to settle in foster care, while several shun them for not being the ideal candidate, is sad enough, but the way Syd accepts it is the saddest of all. Towards the end this play it gave me goosebumps which is testament to the turn around. This really is a wonderful, beautiful play!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Perfect Man

Oooh I do love a good play which manages to trick the audience! This play by Rachel does just that to a tee, as we see Jennifer getting ready to settle in bed with the love her life, her very own perfection. I will unashamedly paraphrase a line from this play for my wife later: "I am only made perfect by you." Should win me some brownie points!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Safe Word

This is a short, powerful piece about awakening to a world as yet unfamiliar to the narrator. You see him at first, nervous, apprehensive but as the revelation unfolds you see him grow in confidence. As with many great monologues like this, I'm left wanting more. Also there is so much for an actor to indulge in this. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Confirmation Bias

It's very important to highlight the work of a pioneer who has otherwise been overlooked and forgotten. In this play Nick does this brilliantly in this fictional tale of two men meeting accidently at the anonymous study. At times it's awkward, but in a nice way as the two form a bond and eventually agree to go into this together. Thankfully acceptance is making strong steps forward on a road of which there are still a few miles ahead. This is a great two hander!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Angel's Mice and Men

Perfectly titled, Cindy's play ANGEL'S MICE AND MEN, captures all beautifully and lots more. Here we have palpable relationships between all involved and a nicely told story of love lost and love gained. The ending brings about the perfect solution, you are left heart warmed. Very nice.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Next Year, Transformers! (Ten Minute)

The very spectacle of two divorced parents dressed as Star Wars characters on a park bench is extremely funny, but behind we see a sadness and a difficult struggle. Having been (and still am) in the Richard character I can attest to how accurate this two hander is. What always plucks at my heart strings in similar situations as this is the love two parents still have for each other despite their separation and differences, they share the love of their child, Paul depicts this beautifully.

  • Christopher Plumridge: He Said It With Flowers (Monologue)

Well... this bouquet has proved a costly mistake for Richard! Serves him right anyway! In my mind I could hear Helen reciting this clever little monologue in a cold, determined fashion, as if she perhaps knew all along. However that's just my take, there are so many roads to go down on how to portray the cheated wife and the situation she finds herself in. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: An Apple A Day

I love this play, Samantha, waking up in hospital has to tell the doctor why she did what she did, and what follows is a story you can't help but laugh at when you know you shouldn't! This is testament to the author for creating a fun character in a pacey, humorous, yet sensitive play. I bet the doctor has never come across a patient like this before! I would love to see this staged!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Polar Opposites

This is so much fun, I laughed out loud while reading it! This play would be a hoot to stage, man and woman dressed identically with an over sized egg. The confusion runs throughout, which makes you wonder how magnificent nature is that real penguins recognize each other.....or do they? Brilliant!
