  • Christopher Plumridge: UNCIVIL SUIT

UNCIVIL SUIT is as much a political venting of outrage as it is a monologue. I can imagine this staged, the speaker holding their audience and most probably receiving a round of applause along with a collective HELL YEAH!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Mother Knows Best

What do the British do as soon as they have passed away? They have a nice cup of tea of course! In this funny, dark humoured ghost story, Rachel has cleverly avoided the cliche storyline and thrown all three of her characters into the pot to fight it out. This would be great fun to stage. Another clever and fun play from this prolific playwright!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Everyday Monsters

Everyday monsters is deep, profound and ultimately disturbing. It’s been proven all too often that one despicable monster can create such a troubled, lost and broken soul, all the while thinking its perfectly acceptable behavior. All through the play the audience will be rooting for Timothy, disgusted by the nonchalant attitude of his abuser. This play is uncomfortable, yet needs to be produced and will have the audience transfixed.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Barn Wood and Blue Roses (FULL LENGTH VERSION)

Wow, to say this is a stunning and beautiful play does not do it justice. The fantasy world in which the characters immerse themselves in to help young Chelsea is wonderful, moving, fun, silly at times but altogether beautiful. I know that’s twice I’ve described this play as beautiful but it really is, I felt a small tear in the corner of my eye throughout. I would love to see this staged, everyone would!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Crabs in a Bucket

This aptly named play CRABS IN A BUCKET cuts straight to the point as we see friends reunited briefly one evening after Big D has an incident. Their love for each other is profound, despite now one crab having made a whole new life for himself. Its gritty, profound and subtly beautiful.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Wrestling One's (Sleep Paralysis) Demons

Most of all at some point in our lives wrestle with our sleep demons, as they do their best to prevent our much needed sleep. But Rob takes this further, they discuss TV shows and thumb wrestle and it makes for a fun show, even though this poor sleeper gets little sleep. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Poseidon and the Sea Nymph

You never know who might turn out to be a villain or hero, and as we watch Lydia come to terms with her situation, we watch her have to decide this for herself. Scott nails this stand off perfectly, even though their close proximity and vast difference in size make for a tense scene. No spoiler here, read this for yourself, another short masterpiece by Mr Sickles!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Seventeen Stitches

This two hander by Tara is incredible, so tense and moving it's fantasy world where the demise of the people in each line is never fully explained. There lies the beauty and creativity of this play. Both characters are strong and driven while not knowing their fate, their bond forms quickly just the same. Excellent, dramatic work!

  • Christopher Plumridge: INGROWN FEAR (a monologue)

A country boy myself Marj accurately described my upbringing, but here the similarities stop. Here her character moves on from her fathers illegal actions, but not innocently, and now lives in the bright lights of the city, always checking their shadows and waiting for that knock on the door. The audience will root for them, hoping that knock will never come.

  • Christopher Plumridge: SLEEPING PORCH (a 10 minute play)

Oh this is so sad, such a broken family and accusations flying everywhere! Tight, tense and oh so desperate, I do feel there is a longer play to be written here, such is the depth of story and depth of its characters. In itself this is a deeply disturbing play, very well written.
