  • Christopher Plumridge: A Widow Walks into a Bar

A wonderful premise for a short play, and sets a wonderful, dark comic scene. What I admire most is that the writer does not make clear what the 'circuit' is, so you're left to make up your mind. I've made up mine, however this could be played in multiple ways so to draw multiple conclusions. Brilliant twist at the end! Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Rot

This is such a hilarious, dark, sill, comedy farce and I love it. The way Blair and Art simply accept the zombies in their neighbourhood is extremely effective and a great contrast to their relatives revulsions. Witty, fast paced and downright crazy, where all characters, even the resident zombie, are all well thought out characters. Brilliant!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bodega Nights

Haha this is a fun little play with a great twist! It would work well in a series of Bar related sketches. Also lots of fun to be had by the actor playing Girl. Love it!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Ice Cube or Murder

This is a hoot and so relatable! Those thoughts late at night when our minds race to endless schemes and possibilities when all we crave is sleep! Then the distractions, the car alarms, snoring, next doors night time antics. Don't get me started on cold hands! Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Pangea (Part Two of The Second World Trilogy)

After reading Marianas Trench, I was desperate to see what happens to the two wonderful, deep characters Teddy and Anzor. Here they meet up in the most unlikeliest of locations and soon fall for each other. But just like the scenario for the Earth Scott has created, forces attempt to drive them apart once more. This is indeed a worthy sequel, if not better, which is difficult to decide when the first play is so beautiful. Now I need to find time to read the last in the trilogy!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Luck of the Draw

Kniess throws his characters together into a near future world of arranged marriages by a misguided government determined to create a more intelligent race, a frightening concept. But here the writer keeps the humanity, keeps a glimmer of hope and love, in a beautiful way. You can't help believe this couple thrown together will indeed form a great partnership.
This is a great concept, one I believe could be extended somewhat. Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Dog Gone - A Monologue

The beautiful souls found in animals float in and out of our lives all so quick, in some cases saddeningly quick. I am all too aware of this. Robert brings us a memory told at a family funeral of such a loss, which I can relate too, for as you mourn and say farewell to a loved one you also remember others you've lost, human or not. A beautiful piece.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Fascinating

I must confess in advance that I am a huge film noir fan. George has created a fun, fearsome femme fatale in this short play, dark, moody, silly and perfectly noir! I want to film this in black and white, light and shade, its narrative brilliantly argued over. I love it!!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Tidy away my Soul

I have just had the pleasure of listening in on a zoom reading of this short play, a great way to bring the story to life....and death in this case. To tidy away a soul since departed proves harder than expected in this case, this ghost isn't going anywhere and does his best to scupper his widows plans, to great comic effect! I see this as having the potential to be a weekly TV sketch show, as there are so many fun scenarios to play with in this set up! Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Vinterlys

This is an incredibly thought provoking fantasy sci-fi drama, you're immediately drawn in and climbing that hill with the two characters. To begin with I thought this is a beautiful fantasy then, slowly the sci-fi 'reality' kicks in and I desperately wanted Akuma to save Samantha from this. As is often the case with these short plays, I'm left wanting more, for Swenson has created something unique and special here, I hope he writes more of the Vinterlys!
