No one creates a better play about nothing than Morey Norkin. The quick dialogue, the twists and turns, the donuts, the line, the infinite possibilities that Morey explores in this humorous two-hander will bring a smile to your face and some out loud laughter at times. Norkin whisps you away to this nothingland where there aren't any real answers and plops the audience down in the middle of it. Love love love this play. Well done.

  • Joe Swenson: LARRY __________ OF SAN BERNARDINO: A MONOLOGUE

Asher once again gives it to you as he embodies the character and then pushes the character and the audience beyond the lines of comfort. The trouble with our world today is that there is a lack of true empathy and we want everyone else to be empathetic and what Asher does with this monologue is he forces you to be the one to take action to save the Larry _____'s of the world, protect them against an unrelenting world. Another fantastic monologue.

  • Joe Swenson: JERMAINE THE JACKHAMMER: A SECURITY GUARD MONOLOGUE

Asher's artistic eye creates a world in which the most machismo men on the planet can be broken down to tears by a champaign waterfall. Thematically Asher's architecture is designed to create a safe space for all through the eyes of Jermaine. His bravado comes through with passion and conviction as he shares his reasons for being an ally and his disdain for the toxic world that threatens that safety. Asher pulls from headlines to add another layer of authenticity to the monologue. A gripping monologue and I highly recommend!

  • Joe Swenson: WADE WRIGHTMAN: A MONOLOGUE

I would be Wade Wrightman. Asher doesn't pull punches in this emotionally raw monologue about grieving, gun violence, inaction by those who are supposed to serve and protect. What is remarkable about this monologue is that you never get the sense that Wrightman is alone. Yet, he is horribly and undeniably all alone now and that hollow feeling is projected and internalized throughout this uncomfortable by design monologue. I empathize with Wade, I'm rooting for Wade to get his justice!

Scott Sickles writes with such force and raw emotion in this one act that is begging the audience to empathize with the message. What is safe? Where is safe? What happens when there isn't any reprieve or a place that is safe? The sadness that washes over you as Estrella reads her final journal entry with previously gained knowledge as to her outcome. The profound idea that Eladio holds himself and others accountable for their actions and beliefs. It all comes together fast and hurts very deep to create a maximizing effect on your emotions. Thank you for writing this.

  • Joe Swenson: Dee, 20

This play captures it all. From the somewhat condescending guarded lifestyle of D&D players to the inclusivity that all D&D players hope for as a new person enters the fold. Bart's infectious energy, Laura and Arthurs dedication to their roles and finally the exuberance of Dee and creativity put this show at the top of my list for plays about RPGs.

  • Joe Swenson: Three Seats

Kevin Cirone has written a powerful play that starts off light with plenty of humorous moments. The playwright becomes very calculative as he slowly methodically outlines political control. By the time you think the stereotypical jabs at both sides of the party line will escalate into a blue state/red state battle, you realize you are wrong. Kevin unleashes a powerful monologue followed by forcing controlling power the antagonist. Kevin makes you root for all of the characters and it feels uncomfortable and relatable. Brilliant play.

At the point where you’re understanding each character for who they are, Brent lets you in on the secret. From there, the rise and fall, escalation and de-escalation, the love and the hate all reveal themselves from both characters. Yet throughout this charming piece you find yourself rooting for the ending as it comes to be. Chemistry, familiarity, and a desire to be acknowledged are all hallmarks to a lasting relationship and Brent delivers that and more in this great short play.

Fantastically creative show from the master of imagination. Josh Gauthier delivers a unique experience in characters and residency as a couple dines 26 km above the earth. A wonderful premise full of wonderful dishes and dialogue. You will not be disappointed by this show. Brilliant.
