Ruyle captures the human spirit so eloquently yet so boldly. This is a play that cuts deep emotionally. The way Ruyle crafts the story makes it so the audience connects to it as if they are part of this family. A beautiful piece of theatre.

This dark tale is so atmospheric and is written in a poetic nature that each line of dialogue sticks with you as the story moves along. I thought the format in which Byham structures the play works quite nicely. It’s nothing new, but the way the characters unravel the story makes this play stand out in a truly haunting way.

This play is utterly strange in the best way possible. Christopher Plumridge develops a fascinating plot and 6 characters that create an intriguing dynamic and their relationships. The dialogue is witty and quick and Plumridge keeps you engaged the entire time. Would be a great addition to either the stage or as an audio version.

This play is totally my favorite type of comedy! I love the dialogue between Trevor and Britney. Richter is able to make a complete story with just a couple of pages. It’s funny, clever, and unique. So much fun to be had if this is staged!

This play is so creepy and very well executed. I love how Brent Alles layers the dialogue in such a way that mystery is revealed naturally and very effectively.

This short play by Ryan Kaminski is original, creative, and truly well crafted. The story unfolds right before your eyes with great pacing and reveals two well developed characters. Would love to see this staged!

Ricardo Soltero-Brown writes theatre that is bold and relevant, and this play is no exception. This dark comedy is accompanied by the horrors of the political machine. It is layered exceptionally, not giving anything away early and letting each moment play out with the interest of the audience staying with the piece the entire time. The Activist is sharp, frightening, and funny.

As someone from Wisconsin, I laughed at that joke! Not only that joke, but all of the jokes were funny and the way John Hilla layers the comedy is just delightful. This piece has a great fast paced dialogue but also has this wonderful heart to it. The characters are well written and their interaction makes for a charming look at life and love in this wonderful short.

After you read each installment, you can't help but appreciate the incredible world-building that Chris Soucy accomplishes with the Spooky U Chronicles. These plays each feel similar, but each of them also has their own sense of personality which makes the reading experience extremely enjoyable. They are well-crafted, smart, and unique. Whether you perform them individually or as the entire collection, audiences will be sure to enjoy this peculiar University.
