  • James Binz: January

I was honored to see this play performed at the Pittsburgh New Works Festival this weekend and it was wonderful. The actresses all did a magnificent job of portrayal and the dialogue worked very well. Sarah Schreck has mined a memory situation for comedy and pathos and hits the mark. The characters are natural and real in spite of the time travel element and the staging was easy and worked. What a very nice piece!

  • James Binz: Early One Evening at the Miskatonic University Ladies Auxiliary Book Club

Oh, John Busser! I made the mistake of reading this in public and now people are wondering what I'm laughing out loud about. The Pandora story remixed with comedy and fantasy and horror. Great dialogue, terrific acting opportunities and a fantastic story that must be seen. This would be an excellent short piece for a horror festival! Well done, John!

  • James Binz: Mr. Darcy, I'm waiting (A monologue for women)

A nice monologue piece for an actress to chew on. The dialogue is well written and flows naturally and well. The story line is good and the character fights to hold true to herself and her story. Lovely, but very short, monologue.

  • James Binz: When I Fall in Love, It Will Be..., a 10-minute play

2 characters and a park bench has endless variations. This is a very good way to approach the subject and tell a story that is rarely told. Susan Middaugh has captured the moment in time for these 2 wonderful characters and created a dialogue that sings. Pace and movement are terrific and these characters provide a nice opportunity for some senior actors. Brava

  • James Binz: HOW BRENDA LANG INVENTED TIME TRAVEL WITH A MOLDY PIECE OF CHEESE

The invention of time travel. Scott Mullen has created an amazing story with glorious characters, sparkling dialogue, a weird fantasy setting and rapidly molding cheese. Farcical highjinks and odd science. Nicely done

  • James Binz: opal's monologue from "over my dead body there'll be a pillow fight"

Oh my. Not what I expected. This rapidly lurched into difficult territory for a monologue that felt like it would be comic. Claire Dettloff regularly amazes with her stories. This one is very well written and the character of Opal strikes all the right notes. Terrible and too, too true to life, I believe.

  • James Binz: Think Before You Click

Such fun! A one minute romp though the IT nightmare. Cookies! We always accept them! I'll be much more careful in the future!

  • James Binz: Like a Bolt from the Blu-Light Adult Emporium (a monologue)

Oh, this was truly hilarious. Everything a monologue should be and more. John Busser creates a moment in time that is farce and frenzy and filled with a deeper meaning and significance. Boone is a wonderful characters - an audience could listen to his dialogue for hours. And the setting is unique and wonderful to stage! Very well written and very well crafted! Brava!

  • James Binz: Garden of Sweden

Nice. The satire works well with these characters and the story/plot is unique and fun. I expected Eve to be almost militant in her political bent, but she was sweet and merged with Adam very well. The dialogue is good and this would be great staged. An enjoyable comedic farce.

  • James Binz: The Record Don't Stop Spinnin' for Robby Ray Robinson

Interesting and unique world creation. The story is a good one with lots of fun twists and turns, the dialogue is poetic and stylized and the characters are one of a kind. A short piece with great dynamics this would be interesting to watch on stage. Very well written!
