  • The Sentience Test

I felt bad laughing as hard as I did in some of the moments of this play as it is horrifying. Hageman has given us a couple of sweet characters to fall in love with before she rips the band aid off and shows us the infected wound. Truly, a strong 10 minutes.
  • Swimming While Drowning

A brilliant work of theater by an incredible writer on the rise. Emilio's characters are the sort you dream of putting on stage. Equal parts rough and sweets, their journey together will keep you not he edge of your seat. Not because this is a thriller, but because you want to know what happens to them. There's a reason it has so much buzz.
  • Riptide Girl (a monologue)
    25 Sep. 2018
This is a beautifully crafted monologue that could help a lot of people get through tough times. The simple approach helps the complicated emotions to flourish and be explored fully in its limited running time. Read, and produce, somebody out there will thank you after they see it.
  • CJ, A Trilingual Play (An Aspanglish Play)
    24 Sep. 2018
YOOOOO Mercedes does not play with this play... yep. Seriously, this is a unique work, an experiment of sorts that works on almost every level. A necessary show, a risky show, and if done right a historic one. AKA Producing companies, develop it!!!
  • Casta
    24 Sep. 2018
A daring piece that dares go places most playwright wouldn’t. Dawes creates a massive piece of art, detailing the racial history of Mexico while explaining the casta painting with beautiful staging. Hope to experience this on a stage soon.
  • The Aftermath

Matthew Freaking Weaver is an expert on making the absurd human. I've yet to read a play of his that didn't make me laugh or have deep emotions. This one in particular has the biggest scope, yet it's so simple. It's in the simplicity that it becomes devastating.

I heard about this play some time ago, and now I'm upset I waited this long. Fawcett has created a powerful puzzle in her character, one that you have fun not just putting together but also taking it apart. Would love to see a production of this play soon.
  • RENATA: A POST-MATERNITY MONOLOGUE
    20 Sep. 2018
Asher Wyndham is a master of his craft. Nobody does the monologue/One person show better than him. I need you all to start noticing and reading him. You will learn and your craft will be better for it. RENATA is no exception.
  • For The Love Of (or, the Roller Derby Play)
    10 Sep. 2018
An incredible work from a playwright that is becoming better and better with each new play. Fun, heartbreaking, unique and beautifully diverse, Femia has created a piece primed for production and I see a lot of them coming its way.

Cute but packing a very serious and gorgeous punch. This is a fine example of what a 10 minute play should be.
