I thoroughly love this play beginning to end! I especially love how Arbery handles time. Nothing shy of brilliant.

I had a really hard time with this play and struggled immensely in the theatre because the dialogue is so well written and the characters were so difficult to like, and this is ultimately a good thing with which to contend - such mimesis! Kudos to Arbery who is able to write such arias with such an open heart.

A chilling play for a very cold world. A lot of people these days seem to believe that the world is full of danger, and this play takes that belief to its logical end. Extremely disturbing, but then so is our world.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Superhero (a ten minute play)

Wonderful play that goes much further than I expected it to go and to a completely different place! Superhero is quite an eventful play! Read it and produce it!

First I love the opening! Then Rosenfeld does such a smart thing by having only 3 actors, and then she sets up a problem for her protagonist, so it's not just a story she's relating but a question with an answer she must decide on. This gives it structure and pulls us through the play. Then I love all the awful ways that women are treated by the medical establishment on display in this play. And all the awful things we think of our breasts and what they are worth in our culture. Wonderful work! It's funny too!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Bars and Measures

The play makes space for the relationship between the brothers to shift and change through the music of scat that they share together. This illustrates a wonderful way to allow for such changes to be shown without words. Beyond that, I found the play to be thrilling for its ambition and scope. Extremely relevant and fascinating!

I love the way Dickens uses language - the common tropes of male/female segregation like using "man" to make us more aware of the cultural imposition of differences. The play highlights the binary girl/boy throughout especially in the way the parents experience their lives on that spectrum. Physicalizing the space into boy/girl spaces makes this visually strong, and making it an impossible choice for Lenora makes us question how we/society creates/insists on binaries that don't really exist. Beautiful work!

Hilarious play with more twists and turns than the Indy 500. This play has some wonderfully funny moments and sight gags and I love transformations! As a holiday sceptic, I enjoy the cynicism in this comedy/mystery!

Romance in the afterlife! Who knew? This funny play really works beautifully. I love everything about it, especially Matt's costume change, and the genital thing. Did that get your attention?
