The play makes space for the relationship between the brothers to shift and change through the music of scat that they share together. This illustrates a wonderful way to allow for such changes to be shown without words. Beyond that, I found the play to be thrilling for its ambition and scope. Extremely relevant and fascinating!

I love the way Dickens uses language - the common tropes of male/female segregation like using "man" to make us more aware of the cultural imposition of differences. The play highlights the binary girl/boy throughout especially in the way the parents experience their lives on that spectrum. Physicalizing the space into boy/girl spaces makes this visually strong, and making it an impossible choice for Lenora makes us question how we/society creates/insists on binaries that don't really exist. Beautiful work!

Hilarious play with more twists and turns than the Indy 500. This play has some wonderfully funny moments and sight gags and I love transformations! As a holiday sceptic, I enjoy the cynicism in this comedy/mystery!

Romance in the afterlife! Who knew? This funny play really works beautifully. I love everything about it, especially Matt's costume change, and the genital thing. Did that get your attention?

Very funny play for older actors! Would be a hoot at any festival!

This is a play I would love to see performed. The characters feel so fully formed, the stories they tell astronomically hard, yet we see them struggling to free themselves from their griefs, mostly via art. To say that feels intensely reductive - the play is way beyond this description. Read it. I highly recommend it.

LCA!!! This adorable, heart-warming play is so creative! I want it to be real IRL! It makes my inner romantic step forward in a big way - and I did not know I had one of those! Read it and realize, the past has so much to learn from us!

Yes! Weaver manages to skewer our celebrity-adoring culture without any meanness or sarcasm! This sweet play wins without leaving any medicinal aftertaste! And yet it doesn't cloy. How does he do it? I think he has a great sense of the genuine, and these days that's so rare. Enjoy! Produce! Repeat!

Would that these guys could see this play and realize that - even though they say they're being jerks - they might actually recognize how terrifying it is to be the prey. Carnes has written a play that displays modern masculine humor at its lowest to help us all better fathom the mess we're in.
