  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: THE COUPON

Very funny play for older actors! Would be a hoot at any festival!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Alabaster

This is a play I would love to see performed. The characters feel so fully formed, the stories they tell astronomically hard, yet we see them struggling to free themselves from their griefs, mostly via art. To say that feels intensely reductive - the play is way beyond this description. Read it. I highly recommend it.

LCA!!! This adorable, heart-warming play is so creative! I want it to be real IRL! It makes my inner romantic step forward in a big way - and I did not know I had one of those! Read it and realize, the past has so much to learn from us!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Living Our Best Kristen Bell Life

Yes! Weaver manages to skewer our celebrity-adoring culture without any meanness or sarcasm! This sweet play wins without leaving any medicinal aftertaste! And yet it doesn't cloy. How does he do it? I think he has a great sense of the genuine, and these days that's so rare. Enjoy! Produce! Repeat!

Would that these guys could see this play and realize that - even though they say they're being jerks - they might actually recognize how terrifying it is to be the prey. Carnes has written a play that displays modern masculine humor at its lowest to help us all better fathom the mess we're in.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: RAPTURE

RAPTURE completely captured my attention from the beginning and never ever lets up one moment! A hilarious, farcical, wonderfully theatrical romp! I love Dylan's monologue! I love the characters - here are multiple female roles that are all so much fun! Here's to the end of shame! Read and produce, repeatedly! This is a play that will keep them rolling in the aisles - it did me!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: White Women

A cry in the bright light of day! This woman's pain is palpable and would be a powerful piece for any festival of civic liberties, street theatre and beyond.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Out of Body/On a Train

This is INTENSE! WOW - I love how Moughon tackles this head-on with theatre as the perfect medium and the perfect metaphor. Probably the most powerful ten minute play ever.

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: i believe in a republic in which money has a great deal to say.

Marvelous play, Dahlink! This is a well-researched horrifyingly dark comedy, and I would love to see it onstage with wonderful female roles - all four of them - and the hats! I love the idea of the hats! And the tiger and the parrot and the monkey and the chimp. There should be a Down with Capitalism Festival, and this would win! Brilliant!

  • Emma Goldman-Sherman: Lost Sock Laundromat, Astoria, Queens

I saw this play last night in the International Human Rights Art Festival, and I have to congratulate Faute for his work. This play deals with new immigrants coming to NYC and not understanding the culture or the language. How to manage in a laundromat filled with other people from other places? We learn to fit in. We accept or don't accept strangers. Its strength was in making us all identify with the newcomer in strange surroundings. A fascinating study that maintained its tension throughout. Well done!
