  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Unused Mask Support Group

This smart little play from the perspectives of the masks we've all been (hopefully) wearing really hit me hard during the Mask #3 monologue. Without being preachy, we get a glimpse of the pandemic and how humans protected or didn't protect themselves. I think this play will be useful even many years past the pandemic as a strong reminder of what we went through.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Major Serious Fucking Diet (a Mother's Day monologue)

This feels like a transcript of an actual Mother's Day phone conversation...and how many of us have tried to go on a "serious f*7%ing diet" only to find it isn't worth it with the good food available. Besides, who's going anywhere to be "seen" any time soon? A great mother character that is so colorful and deserves her own play, Reece with feel familiar and fun to many of us!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Shady Lady: A Robust Blend of Privilege, Influence, and White-Collar Crime

This play is so fast paced and hilarious! I NEED to see this staged, if not be IN it! I love all of the great female roles and the physical comedy is just a riot. Another great play by Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend. One of my new favorite writers!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Friendly's Fire (or, Guy Friendly Meets the Saint of Thieves)

If watching a man's breakdown can be described as beautiful and a little fun, I would say that about Guy Friendly. But the over the top characters and magical moments truly don't take away from the gravity of what is going on inside Guy's mind. This is such a beautiful painting of a play and I think every time you see it you will find something new and inspiring. Just magical, heartbreaking and still hopeful. Love this.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Abominable

Wow. This coming of age, this story of children becoming men and women, is so beautifully written. As a child becomes an adult, it's almost like they are someone new, but still the same. And for a child growing through this it can be painful and terrifying. This story is magical and moving and would be a beautiful showcase for the cast as well as the design team. This will leave audiences with a lot to think about!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: the loser gods club

This is a hedonistic, satirical, leather-clad romp with familiar gods and goddesses of the ages. Add a little music and you'd have a new Rocky Horror! The costuming alone would be a fun challenge! One message is that history is written by the winners. But another message could be, if the only way to be a winner is to create losers then no one will be a winner for long.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: When I Had Three Sisters

This is such a SMART comedy! I think this would be delightful to play in rep WITH Chekhov's THREE SISTERS. It would be fun to have the jokes so fresh and real, but not necessary as the comedy is fast, witty and can hold its own without being super familiar with Chekhov. Stage this! I will be there. At auditions or in the audience...or just ringing the doorbell hoping to wander in to the show!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Wish

I definitely said "Wooooow..." as I finished reading this play. It was funny, it was dark and practically every twist took me by surprise. Especially the end! The characters are all very rich and distinct and I guarantee audiences will all be saying "Wooooow..." at the end of each performance. This is a winner!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Cream Pie Shoot-Out at Rock Creek

This was such a delightful play! I wanted more! And when Jennifer said she wrote her notes in Russian, I thought "I do that, too!"...all my snide remarks in my scripts are totally written in Russian...I know Jen didn't REALLY use Russian, but I just thought it was a fun coincidence. This return to community theatre after time in the "big leagues" almost could have been a social disaster until the girls dropped their walls and shared their truths. And when they did, through the whipped cream and wackiness, it was truly magical!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: I WILL NEVER PLAY JULIET

As an older actor myself, I can relate to the "roles I should have played, but now will never" lament. This is so relatable. But also, beyond acting. The great role of wife and mother Alice has been "cast in" and navigated without direction is also relatable as well. And though many of us know Nurse is actually the more fun role to play, it would be nice to be seen as a Juliet once. Just once. Alice is definitely comfortable and successful. But there are always the thoughts of "what if?".
