  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: In Fairness

This play has so much going on. A dark, sci-fi horror, post apocalyptic, allegory of truth and wellness. I have so many ideas of what things in this play means, but I don't want to shape anyone else's interpretation. Kind of like how we, as an audience, never get to see what Fairness truly is. But each of us will have our own ideas as to what to think. I love the open scene of all of this and how, even fully staged, the audience will still be creating their own idea of Corona's world. Brilliant.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Pilates of the Carob Eaten: An Autocorrected Play

Just had the distinct pleasure of performing a Zoom reading of this play and the laughs were very much abounding!
This is the start of a new concept in theatre and Busser is the one to lead us all!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: #twinning (formerly, Capstone)

Something about living through 9/11 made me feel everything in that first week after and slowly, as the years went on, I stopped feeling much of anything. Because it always felt those in charge were telling us how we should feel and how we can be patriotic. Jessica is the twin without the noise of society telling her how to be and Gillian is the one who wants to rebel but just can't help but feel what she's told to feel. This is a layer cake of a play and so much to digest! Wonderful.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Hunting BigFoot

This is such a great ensemble piece about storytelling. Bigfoot is all of us because ingesting and digesting stories is what keeps the world going. The framing of the writer's room, a stressful room of blankness, is a great device as it gets filled with all of the ideas that have inspired America and American stories through time. The bits and pieces of true and false history are also very American since the beginning. This story tells so much and allows many actors to be showcased in a fun way.

  • Oh dear. I know this bear. The problem is, he doesn't lie. He's extremely honest. But the truths bear tells are often unlikely truths. And bear really can't protect you from everything. I love the way anxiety is anthropomorphized into a teddy bear Alice clung to as a child, but grew because she was too afraid to let go. I loved this play as travel is also one of the anxieties that affect me the most. Very relatable and engaging and a great way to really illustrate anxiety to people who don't quite understand it.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Good Grief

I got a good kind of sad reading this play. And I think that's what it was supposed to do. Remind you that when someone leaves, their memories WILL make you sad. But that's okay, it's better than not remembering at all. We need to learn to embrace our grief, let it be our partner, not our master. What a beautiful and magical way to deal with loss.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: SUGAR PIE

Not trying to be "pun"ny, but this is such a "sweet" play. A real "slice" of life moment between two people who probably could have met long ago, but they weren't in the right place in their lives to come together yet. Now they are connecting on a level only reserved for those who have seen what the world has to offer, had their meal and are now ready to enjoy a leisurely dessert of life. Just delicious!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Ballad of Leslie

This made me smile in so many ways! What a great character Jordan is! I love the exchanges between Jordan and Leslie and I secretly home Karen never arrives. What an epic way to spend a mundane day! Budget cuts or not. This was a very fun read and will be a huge delight to the audience as well as the artistic team.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Waffle Squarf (one-minute play)

I saw this picture on social media yesterday and today I get it as a play! Life is so giving! Now I think there should be an entire evening of short plays based on internet memes and this play should lead them off! Just project the meme and then perform the play in front of it! Matthew Weaver, as usual, is an inspiration! Too funny!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Not Even the Girlfriend

There are so many layers to this short play, it's really a meal in of itself! As an actor, I remember being so hungry to have someone tell me who I was, who I should be playing. And part of this play is screaming that we women get to CHOOSE who we are and who we want to play. If you can't find it, create it and don't let anyone deny or block your truth. The more I think about this play, the more empowered I feel, actually.
