  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Weather or Not (A Lost Children Story)

I am so glad I read PRIOR ENGAGEMENT before this piece. It definitely can stand alone, but the connection to the characters was that much deeper for me. This is truly a world to get lost in. I think the lost children are making magic with the dust they were given and it really makes your heart soar. This 10 minute play is a picture postcard of deep love surviving despite deep loss.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Inexact Science of Matrimony

I am not familiar with the O. Henry source material, but this is a fun little short which got me to laugh out loud at the end! Very unexpected ending! Hilarious!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Sisyphus and Prometheus

This is such a well framed piece that not only is educational about mythology, but also modern social hierarchy amongst classes. It becomes clear Brandy thinks and acts very entitled but believes they are being generous in what they share with others who are "beneath" them. And at first, you get that feeling from Lucas and Olivia, too. It's a very realistic and exhausting start to a study session. A great piece for student actors as well as audiences to perform and digest!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Folly of Prometheus

This is such a mind-blowing take on the Mary Shelley story. Absolutely chilling and delightful at the same time. I adore Adam's speech tag, "-if that's what you're worried about." Fully acknowledging his intimidating presence in the world, but doing his best to soften it a bit. Yet what defines a monster, really? Violence? The reasoning or lack thereof for the violence? Such a masterful 10 minutes that will make you truly think!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Grave Misunderstanding

I love spooky ghost stories and this one starts off innocently enough, but when you discover what happened and what COULD have happened, it will send chills up your spine! Great characters, too! A perfect piece to add to your Spooky Season festival!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Nina Le Fay Licensed to Sell Drugs and Poisons

Nina Le Fay is a rich character that you will want to know more about. She has found her true calling, and now has she possibly found true love? I need to know more!!!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: How About Them Dodgers

Even though this play made me smile, underneath I am seething. I want so badly for this to be full out farce. But there is a little undercurrent of truth that feels like it is all dragging us into a new reality. The characters are wonderful and the audience will love them. Do not ban this play! Produce it so that it can become the delightful farce we all NEED it to be!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: She Sells Seashells

This play doesn't need a lot to really punch you in the feels. The simplicity and the repetition are exactly how Swenson sneaks in and twists your guts until you gasp. George's love for Sally is clearly forever and through sickness and health. This is still more a story of love than loss. But love is giving your heart freely, knowing full well it will be broken. There is no malice in this message Swenson gives us. Just full-hearted love that splinters on its way towards the end.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Pilloried

This is ABSOLUTELY the play I would be FIGHTING to be cast in for an evening of short plays! The characters are hilarious, unforgettable and yet very real and very wise! The message hit home with me and I will never forget Doxy's words. Please, please produce this play and let me be in it, too!!!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: America

Wow. This play is absolutely chilling. In the fear of the unknown, these kids are absolutely cold-blooded in their desire to eliminate this strange kid. And even without a belief in aliens, this is a very plausible concept. And that is what will shake audiences to their core. A perfect horror play for student actors to perform.
