  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Vacuity

This short play hits hard. Hannah is immediately likeable with her honesty about Vacuity's products to her customer Allison. But when HR manager Kylie enters, the world twists horribly. Even Kylie is a victim of Vacuity's horrifying, yet unwritten rules about physical perfection, yet she gives an absolutely super villain-esque monologue when Hannah quits. The things she says about corporate America are harsh, but true. We are all rooting for Hannah and the unseen Erica. But when the lights go out, when can we do to change how things are done in our world?

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Bear - Takes Manhattan

Poor Bear, cannot deliver his manifesto in the dramatic and powerful way in which he deserves and desires without so many cursed interruptions! This is quintessential Bear personality all the way. The way Bear deals with the interruptions tells you who he is and who he THINKS he is! You go get Manhattan, Bear!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Bear - Bears on a Plane!

This Bear! I never know what he will get into next! And he seems to cross his historical and fantasy wires, not unlike his new bear nemesis who was tearing out the airplane wiring in this action adventure in the air.
I think it is great Bear has a new ally AND a new nemesis all in one trip! I will always request a seat next to Bear on future flights!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Waiting for Macbeth

I love this fun deconstruction of Shakespeare's "Weird Sisters." The pronunciation of the characters names have always been a sticking point for me, too! Would be fun to perform and hilarious to witness!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Prior Engagement (or the Stairwell Death Play)

The dialogue at the beginning feels light and fun, but underneath, you know there is a darkness. I read SPIN CYCLE before reading this and I love knowing that these plays reside in the same world. You know Hannah Lee DeFrates knows exactly what this world is about and how to survive it, just like these characters. I have a feeling we will see a lot more from this dystopian world and we will be prepared for the ride, thanks to the solid world building here.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Tis True, Ma (Ten Minute)

An absolutely lovely snapshot of history from the perspective of people it may have affected the most. Powerful and informative. Great characters to play as well.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Odd Songs for Odd Birds

Once again, Aly Kantor has created a new faerie tale that will take up residence in my soul forever. The magic in this one act play is powerful and beautiful. It is unpredictable and darn near perfect. The layers in this tale go beyond fur and feathers. This will touch many souls. It will take you home.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: OvEn (an ode to Shakespeare)

I love that there are two versions of this play and think it would be brilliant to see them bookend an evening of short plays! See if the audience catches on! Great Shakespearean references in this one and would definitely be a fun challenge of a comedy to perform!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: OvEn - Revenge of the Gretel Scouts

I laughed out loud at this over the top "Hansel and Gretel" parody. Absolutely bonkers and delightful, this fast paced, female Bill & Ted stuck in a faerie tale horror scene will win you over with laughter. What a fun piece to design as well!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Under A Watchful Eye

Wow. This starts out as such a sad holiday monologue. But as it goes on, we see the strength and quiet rage Angie has for her "Pop." The last line is killer and this would be a killer monologue to witness. Eerily powerful.
