  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: the broad of your back

This is a very powerfully worded piece that can't help but create images in your head. Theatre is very much a visual medium so for a writer to be able to create images purely from reading the script is a remarkable skill. Despite appearing simplistic, by the end it is most definitely a piece that would inspire discussion.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Portia and the Therapist

Right from reading the plot synopsis I have to say, the piece drew me in! Having read the example I have to say I am enthralled by the character of Portia. In a 'celebrity centric' society she's a very interesting character to read and the part of the piece I read showed wonderful quick flowing dialogue and I predict the piece as a whole would make a brilliant production!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Just A Rumor

As a lover of 'The Golden Age of Hollywood' this play was right up my street. Wonderfully created characters armed with beautiful dialogue that flowed the whole piece with a natural ease, what is there not to love about this play?!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: For The Public Good

This piece is a brilliantly tense and informative piece that will have you on the edge of your seat most of the way through. The staging of the past events is brilliantly done and at the same time ensures a manageable cast size. Its also a prime example of my favourite kind of theatre, the kind to inspire conversation and debate. Another brilliant example of work by this writer!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Wonderful Guy

A heart warming piece about a bond shared. The correlation between the life of the actor and his bond to a Gorilla. The writer has taken this beautifully simplistic idea and make you feel like you'd like a 'Guy the Gorilla' of your own! A lovely story that wouldn't be our of place if it was a converted to a 'feel good' film.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Positive +

Well...that has got to be the most intense ten minutes ever! The situation of the piece is a fairly simple one but the fact that the playwright manages to cover so many complex subjects in that short space of time makes it a brilliant play. The conversation between the two characters reveals a lot more than their current circumstances, it discloses their past relationship as well as the cause of it to end. I think taking that concept and stretching it would make this piece just as captivating if it were longer. Very well done!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Hocking Murray

Well...I've seen many films/plays where a wife has sought revenge on her husband but the plot of this piece really takes the cake! Its a brilliantly witty short piece that will have you giggling at the absurdity of it but also have your mind thinking about how much a person means to us. A wonderful piece that would make a great addition to a festival.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: I Should Go

For 12 pages this piece sure sent me on an emotional rollercoaster. Despite seeing the subject matter before hand I found myself going from bad guy to not bad guy back and forth 3 or 4 times. I think the ability for the writer to create that emotional connection between reader and character is truly brilliant! As a subject matter you'd think it couldn't be done in 10 mins but Brenda McFarlane not only did, she did very well!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Memories Come Back

This piece gave me a beautiful warm feeling. Taking the swift back and forth dialogue, the beautiful lyrics to songs and sprinkling on a few references to Casablanca you couldn't ask for a better example of a love story. It was wonderfully created and could stand shoulder to shoulder with quite a few of the musicals of today!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: The Disappearance of Greta

Historical theatre is not always for me but the premise of taking a piece set during the war and adding the spectacular twist that the writer does is brilliant! I personally think this would make an interesting concept for a film also but in the mean time I thoroughly suggest giving it a read!
