A living wonderment of the 'what ifs', that's what this wonderful play strikes me as. John has created two wonderful but very different characters and throws them back together after many years in the town they grew up in. From there we are privileged to watch as the two of them engage in small talk, mull over memories of their youth and share a beautiful moment. Its a lovely story coupled with a wonderful creation. I think its a wonderful piece and will no doubt have audiences thinking about their own 'what ifs'.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Autumn's Fall

I loved Autumn right from the first line of her wonderful speech and proceeded to smile and laugh all the way through her telling of this comedic and chaotic moment in her life. Chris has created a truly wonderful character in Autumn. Using brilliant witty dialogue she breaks all the stereotypes of an older (not old, I'm not brave enough to call her old) woman! This would make an amazing performance piece in a sketch/variety show as its what most Chris's works are, something different, something created with care and something very funny! Another brilliant piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Wolves

I've read many of George's wonderful works and I wanted to save his play for my 800th recommendation for that reason! "Wolves" is a fascinating piece that explores creativity vs the darkness of reality. Its a story that draws you in as you witness the characters devolve into their true natures. The idea of this thrilling tale being accompanied by music is just brilliant, giving the audience another medium with which to observe this tension loaded piece. Like so many of George's plays it offers up so much and I think an audience will want to see it! Wonderful work!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Telegram in the World of Smartphones

This play is so many different things it's incredible. First, it's a snapshot where a couple receive a VERY odd wedding gift and we get to witness the witty dialogue as they discuss. Second, it's a social commentary on how busy life can be and how taking ten minutes away from our phones can be a huge upheaval for some, expertly depicted in the characters here. Third, it's a heart wrenching tale of how great loss can cause someone great pain, which couples into the fourth thing, its a tale of love, strong and beautiful, it's all here! It's fabulous!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: 12, ANGRY, MEAN

So I laughed out loud at the ending of this wonderful comedic piece! Paul has the wonderful talent of having you thinking one thing right up until the last minute and then...well I can't say anything else without ruining it for you. Take it from me though, it's a wonderful two hander that is sure to have an audience amused! Paul has a wonderful skill at writing pacey dialogue that carries the story swiftly towards his wonderfully constructed twist ending and this was another wonderful example of that from Paul!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Orb Quest: the Quest for the Orb

As a lover of fantasy, I was most intrigued by play and it most certainly didn't disappoint! In the fantastic world, Sawyer introduces you to characters who make such classic observations as "I thought a dwarf wasn’t a dwarf unless they had an axe." The story flows with wonderfully exciting that shows how amazingly far the imagination can stretch. This would make a wonderful play for a young audience...or a tv show...or a dungeons and dragons campaign. That's the great thing about this play. Its amazingly creative, exciting, funny and versatile. My heartiest congratulations writer/adventurer!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Don Quixote de La Center

The idea of growing older and having to face the idea of losing control of your mind is terrifying. In David's piece we feel that terror for the character's and their families as they go through this awful experience. David creates characters you feel for and mixes the dialogue between the 'matter of fact' tone of reality with the embellished language of the tales of old and what is believed to be real. Its a play that tugs at the heart strings and has made me want to read more of the stories mentioned. I wish I'd seen it live!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Hope Throws Her Heart Away

Susan has created a fascinating story of self-discovery here. Hope guides and shows the audience her journey through life including the minefields of friendship circles, popularity contests, self doubt, education, the world of dating and the desire to fit somewhere. Its such a powerful piece and will resonate with women in audiences because a lot of them will have felt the same way. Emotionally and regarding subject matter its an incredibly powerful piece and its easy to see why its had such a prolific history. Above all else though it creates three great roles for female performers, I loved...

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Iggy's Curse

'Iggy's Curse' creates a wonderful showcase of relationships between the characters as you are drawn into this story where not all is as it seems.. The complexity of these relationships continue to twist and turn as you, as the audience witness a vast emotional spectrum before a wonderful twist. Being young is a complicated situation in itself but the character of Iggy is a brilliant portrayal of the confusion and angst that comes with being young, coupled with the additional complexities of his 'gift', he's a character you feel for with a story you NEED to see!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Snowflake (Tales From The Hill #1)

"I just assumed, like an asshole!", for me, that was a powerful point of this piece. Sam has taken the already complicated world of being in higher education and then mixed in the intolerant and judgemental nature that exists in certain individuals and created what could be a tragic and sad piece. For me though, that wasn't what resonated here. The powerful nature of Chip as a character, both in the way he stands up for himself but also in the way he opens Brett's eyes, that's what stands as the centre piece here. Its a powerful and wonderful piece!
