  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Deeper

"Deeper" is a fabulous piece where all the way through you think you know where the story is going and every time you are spun in a different direction. Jacquelyn has taken what is a dark moment for most people and laced it with humour complete with a touching moment about human connection. We always think about the influence people have on our lives but this brilliant piece makes you think about the influence people have over our deaths. Jacquelyn constructs two wonderfully unique characters and intertwines their stories in a wonderful and emotional way.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Graphing Calculator (monologue)

The world needs teachers like Mr Schwartzman! As I read this peice the first time I couldn't help but smile at what a wonderful teacher this guy must be to even provide a message like this for his students. Then as I re-read it I could see him in my minds eye, as he frets (probably as much as his students) about preparing them for their exams. Its a piece with wonderful humour and is a brilliant example of characterisation within a monologue. I'd have probably done a lot better at maths if he was my teacher!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Cleo's Clients

I have the great privilege of saying that I was part of Chris's development process as Cleo and associates came to life. The final result is brilliant! The world of sex workers is one normally represented by stereotypes but Chris has given his characters a greate sense of variety as the audience become a fly on the wall in what is a very odd day for Cleo. The characters and the story are well constructed on their own but also leave you with thoughts and questions about what happened before and after they came to Cleo. A wonderfully written piece!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: A Play by Theodore Janus

Utterly fascinating! As both a writer and a performer I found both the brilliant characters in this piece so relatable. Lana is star struck when she encounters the playwright of a show she is currently staring in but even more shocked when he asks her to do what most actors wouldn't dare, change his words! Its a wonderfully insightful discussion between the two about the development of a character, the bond that can develop between a writer and their character and the ability to divert from the script. By the end I couldn't help wander what I would do?!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Digital Christmas

This is a wonderfully funny tale of Christmas meets technology and the chaos that can ensue as a result. Jonathan has a wonderful imagination and tells a story of what would happen if Santa (and Christmas) went online only! Its got wonderfully funny moments coupled with witty back and forth dialogue coupled that is sure to leave you with a festive warm feeling by the end. Just brilliant!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: MRS. DUNN (a 10 minute play)

The world needs more teachers like Mrs Dunn. So many children are in a similar situation to Bryant and are sacrificing their own futures. Marj has gifted this play with two wonderfully believable characters. In a society where its easy to just right off a failing student as stupid Mrs Dunn is a wonderful example of how the right teacher with the right amount of support can change your life. This would make a wonderfully powerful piece and will resonate with kids who are looking for their own Mrs Dunn. Wonderfully written!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: I Have No Words

Sometimes it can be easy to see news about wars and feel like they are so far away from you. In this piece Chris has brought the traumatic events of the Ukraine war to us. Its a real piece from all angles which is what it needs to be. Chris has been true to the events of Martha's life and that makes you want to know how part two will unfold. Theatre has often piece a world of make believe but Chris has brought something real and powerful to the stage.

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Y & Z

OH MY GOD WHAT IS IT???? That is the desperate and passionate plea I could hear myself saying as I finished reading this wonderfully tension fuelled piece. Chris has a gift for taking the simple (three characters with no names in a room) and loading a scene with emotion to the point where even reading it you are leaning forward in your chair! Its apparent to me that this piece would be right at home for a horror themed evening on radio!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: (A Day in) The Life of Pie

So, this is what happens when you put two fabulous playwrights together! As a lover of film noir and musicals/music I knew this was a play I wanted to read and I was not disappointed! Morey and Chris have taken the genre and brilliantly utilised the lyrics of classic songs to reinvent the way people speak. Its a piece that won't fail to make you smile but I warn you now, you will struggle not to sing along! Its a wonderfully catchy piece in the best way! Bravo boys!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Just Breathe

Wow! Jaxson's ability to take events/feelings from every day life and breathe life into it. The horrible 'drop in stomach' feeling that Cole faces while trying to study for his exams is something a lot of people when watching this piece. Jaxson has created a wonderfully believable character who takes the audience on an emotional roller coaster that Lisa attempts to reassure him through. It depicts a wonderful array of emotions ended with a beautiful moment. Just wonderfully done and so relatable.
