  • Christopher Plumridge: Cupcake

YES ! It's true, a bad cup cake can ruin a day, possibly everything in the universe!
But... I see something different in this small cake, I belive its heavenly, delicious, devine and Zach and Liz make full use of irony while polishing off said cupcake.
    Or is that just me....?

    I prefer muffins anyway....

    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Let's Talk Sex (15 min.)

Any narrative in any play, book, poem, news article, IKEA instructions will always sound wonderful read by Sir David Attenborough!
Two male Bowerbirds (they exist, I looked them up) fight over the attentions of a female hen(?) Bowerbirds attention, all under the rather intrusive eye of Sir David. This would be so much fun to see staged!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Lucia Goes Lucid

What would we do if we can willingly tap into and enter someone else's dream? Maybe we already do?
There's so much covered in this short piece that it could be produced any way chosen, especially with the challenge of the special effects. Very good!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Prior Experience

Ha! What I thought might happen didn't, for Harper is cleverer than that, as I should know. So many positions in a company have that Catch 22 scenario, but everyone has to start somewhere.
This is a fun two hander and we're sure there's the beginning of a good relationship here.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Trapped

Oh dear! Modern technology meets fairy tale times! This is a funny play with a sad tinge, for there are so many strange stories told in folklore, but these pale into insignificance compared with the 'information' we are fed online.
I love this short play, especially with its Terry Pratchett reference!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Life Support

LIFE SUPPORT is a truly sad play set against a heartbreaking situation. Sad also that Ben's closest family chose to be so distant because of his sexuality. I come from a Christian background where Sandra's ethics were somewhat deeply installed in me, but I have turned my back on that and now I embrace love in all its forms. Maybe I have rose tinted glasses, but I believe there is a glimmer of hope for a friendship between Sandra and James.
    The ending is truly chilling.
An excellent short play by Mr Baker.

  • Christopher Plumridge: If Only in My Dreams (Ten Minute)

I'm relieved I didn't read this at Christmas time, for I know there would have been tears. This is such a sad ghost story, full of regret and despair, yet with the arrival of Nan-nans grandson, there is new hope.
Very well written in a Blythe Spirit way. I do hope Nan can find a way to find a way to make peace with the ghost of her daughter.
    Very moving.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Untold Story

This is a wonderful and funny short play for comic book enthusiasts, which I'm sure will be a wonderful challenge to perform on stage, what with all the special effects. I can see this being a short film, one I would pay to watch. But who IS at the door???
    Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Bed Bug

Oh this Floyd is a disturbing character! No matter what guilt trip he would try with me I'll be reaching for the bug spray!
BED BUG is a great two hander, with a lot to say. A metaphor for an oppressive relationship where Floyd is the lazy, waste of space bug, drawing on poor Jane's kindness and hospitality.
    Very clever!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Your Table is Ready

What I love most about play scripts, and writing in general is that one can take it in their own context. For me, this great piece by Jacquie, is mostly about respect for anyone in service. So often we want and demand the best possible service, when we are spending our hard earned money, that we forget the server is human too, earning their money in order to pay for a service themselves.
Here the writer presents us a clever scenario where the lack of said respect can turn tables on you. Excellent!
