  • Christopher Plumridge: Rude

The relationship between Tradd and Sabrina is palpable, real, sweet and a pleasure to read or watch. This play itself provides a wonderful snapshot of a small period of time which shows us how close these flatmates really are. Arlene also touches on discrimination and how this couple deal with it, or would like to deal with it if slapping was legal!
A lovely short play which I would love to see staged, which would also be a fun challenge for three actors.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Seven Swans a Swimming (a 5 minute play)

Once again, Tiny_Theatre bought a play to life in a wonderful way, but no actor can do this without a wonderful script such as this, written by the expert hand of Nora.
Set against the study foundations of Notre Dame, despite it being nearly destroyed by fire, it still stands tall, as does Windsor Castle and the British Monarchy, both referenced in this play.
But I nearly cried, for this couples foundation does not seem so strong.
I will have to read more of the series to find out, I suggest you do too, it's wonderful, atmospheric writing!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Perdrix in a Pear Tree (2 minute play)

Christmas is a heightened time when the vulnerable need and seek sanctuary. Thankfully, this hunted partridge finds such sanctuary in this sweet couples pear tree. A lovely opening to the twelve days of Christmas by Nora.
Tiny_Theatre bought this piece to life in their usual talented way, so do listen in!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Dinner Date

DINNER DATE would be such a fun show to stage, and for any audience to watch. I was on the edge of my seat, wondering just which way this date would go, for there were only ever two options, or so it would seem. Just when you think it's heading one way, the playwright cleverly chucks it the other!
I won't give any more away about how fun it would be to stage, but I will say this: I want to act in it, I want to produce it, I want to watch it. Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: After Playtime

AFTER PLAYTIME is a fun short play, with the great premise of having God depicted as a two year old. But clearly this has a lot of important messages which show us how insignificant the human race actually is, yet what damage it's causing. If we're all in the hands of a toddler at playtime, who knows what will happen to us? A great play!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Spill Chick: An Autocorrected Play

In yet another hilarious autocorrected ply, Mr Bosser has nulled it again! This time a couple meet in a bar but only communicate with a series Miss Peld text messages, causing innuendos and confusions and things really get off on the left footing (proof I read it!). This would be fun to stage and would offer some clever displays of the messages they text. No audience would h8 this short play, they'd lol. Great fun!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Last Call

Oh my word, this is such a clever idea! The bartender, our narrator for this evening, guides us through another night in their bar, where the same types people shuffle in. But here's where it changes, a kind of speed dating for moods. No spoilers here, read this for yourself, better still stage it so I can come to watch. It's BRILLIANT!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Tipping

TIPPING contains two expertly crafted characters thrown together in a bar with no bartender. Their language, initially in such contrast, turns as they get to know each other while waiting for a drink that never comes. This is an excellent, intense two hander, which would be a wonderful challenge to produce, as it gives the two actors such complex characters to portray. Very good!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Just Like In The Movies

This short holiday play is indeed a hoot! We are witness to the final day's shooting of a Hallmark movie, one filmed in the heat of summer and patience as at a low amongst the cast and director. Que for some back and forth banter between scene lines. Am I bad to have found the most difficult character, that of Morgan, to be the most fun?
All Hallmark movies should have alternative endings, now wouldn't that be swell!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Chewie, Get Us Out of Here

What brilliant, fast paced, action packed - indeed pun & quote packed, hilarity! This play cleverly brings in so many Sci-Fi TV and Film quotes and characters, it would be a total hoot to stage! Oh no, Dramaturgs!!
