  • Christopher Plumridge: A Benevolent Alliance of Mourners

I've just listened to this beautiful play on Gather by the Ghostlights podcast, it's amazing! I don't wish to give any spoilers, read it for yourself, better still listen to it, or see it being staged. One touching line amongst others: " Tell me stuff so someone knows"
    This play is stunning!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Perfect Two

I've just listened to A PERFECT TWO on the wonderful Gather by the Ghostlight podcast. Newsham gives us a sweet couple who are indeed a perfect two, as they knock each other down the scale from 10 to 2 until they realise the truth about their relationship. I love this play!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Off Center

Having just listened to a well produced version of this play on a podcast, I strongly recommend you do the same. If you've ever pondered the merits of some art in a modern gallery and wondered if they are a masterpiece or just smatterings of paint thrown on a canvas, I know I have, then read this, as it may well make you think again. Three well thought out characters bring this art to life and its a beautiful story!

  • Christopher Plumridge: Once Again

ONCE AGAIN is very interesting, a clever amalgamation of a family saga and a murder mystery. I soon became hooked, wanting to know what was going on here. Nicely staged with flashbacks and monologues direct to the audience....and throw in a healthy dose of double crossing along the way!
All said I'd love to try a bottle of '85 vintage......

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Elevator Play

THE ELEVATOR PLAY is a clever, short two hander which completely took me by surprise, I won't spoil it by telling your why, read it for yourself, produce it!
A sophisticated play which is clever on all levels. (Pun intended!)

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Day

Ooh what trickery, to draw us into these three young lady's innocent day out, a time to enjoy the autumn, the sun on their faces, laughter in their hearts! Just as you begin to join in their frivolity the truth behind their existence creeps in like unwanted winter, the cold bites the girls and audience alike as the dead leaves are kicked up into the wind. Wonderful imagery!

  • Christopher Plumridge: A Tree Grows in Longmont

What a wonderful scene: an opportunity, if only in your own mind, to act out a play you've written with a lost lover. This play is touching, moving, desperate, yet full of hope. I do believe the character Philip will go back to this tree in Longmont year after year to act out this scene. 'You are never gone, just in the next room' Lovely.

  • Christopher Plumridge: Fashionably Late

What a darling, lovely couple Will and Allison are! We all know how it is to be fashionably late for a party and worry about being even later, but Will has other ideas. Sweet and fun, but I dare not try this with my wife!

  • Christopher Plumridge: What's in the Box?!

This is such a darkly funny two hander between two good friends, one in the midst of an awkward breakup, albeit of his own making. I can just imagine this being staged, a kind of stand off between man and box, akin to Joey and Chandler in Friends. I love the ending, which I give no spoilers, read it for yourself, better still see it staged! Great!

  • Christopher Plumridge: The Real Estate

Here the author has perfectly encapsulated that time in a relationship where you just can’t be with one another, yet can’t bear a moment apart. Jude and his partner have at least the decency to fight away from the kids. Most importantly you can’t help feeling the love throughout this monologue and know for sure they’ll hold it together!
