  • Jeffrey James Keyes: The People You Meet in Heaven

The People You Meet in Heaven is such a fun piece with really great storytelling and a nice twist at the end. This is a perfect example of a well constructed one-minute play. Well done!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: 20

I really relate to this beautiful and sad reflection of a moment in time that's trapped in so many of us who shared an uncertain space on 9/11. I find it reflective, honest, and raw. This piece would create an extremely powerful moment in a series of short monologues and stand alone pieces. I look forward to reading more of your work.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Things Are Looking Up

Gatton really knows how to pull you in and shows you how to love and feel like you're part of the world of his characters. I love the banter and storytelling in this piece, which seems polite and friendly until he masterfully surprises you with a broken expectation that pulls the rug out from beneath you. I could read his plays all weekend. Great work Vince!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Trumpets Sounding Over Harrisburg

Holy Sh*t this play packed a punch! Trumpets Sounding Over Harrisburg is a riveting ten-minute two-hander that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. O'Day executes well-drawn dialogue while capturing the spirit of the aftermath of the most significant accident in U.S. commercial power plant history. My jaw dropped a few times in the middle and end of this piece, which is riddled with elements of surprise and horrific action. Karen better watch her back! Well done, Michael, this is a juicy one.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Echoes of a Lost Son

Echoes of a Lost Son captured the spirit of the post 9/11 haze that took over so many of our lives. The perfectly crafted characters in Chima's play, rich with nuance and deeply embedded in complicated relationships, are going to sit with me for a long time. I read a section of this play earlier and found it completely engrossing, this expanded version is dynamic, daring, and ready for a bold production. I look forward to seeing this in person. Chima is a playwright to follow and celebrate, his work is outstanding.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: What Was Left in the Junk Drawer

I really connected to this piece and to Shenoy's writing. As someone who still sends cards and also has more than a few drawers and boxes of letters, notes, and old mementos from the past this short play drew me in and prompted an emotional response. I like seeing characters, and people, have the time and space to speak candidly about where they are and what they're feeling. The spirit of this piece is strong and timely.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: To the Stars With Love

"Do you remember going to the Park?" - this stellar science fiction drama was so much fun to read, wonderful and heartbreaking. I love Shenoy's grasp of clear and impactful dialogue with an expansive sense of character and backstory swirling beyond their words. This piece reminds me of some of my favorite Beckett pieces, I'd love to see actors work with and sink their teeth into this text!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Joey Age 6

Powerful, brave storytelling that's both engaging and horrific. It's clear this comes from a truthful place.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: We Are Children.

I'm really struck by this piece and the subtext and powerful depth to this work. I feel like it's a director's dream. The writing is beautiful and subtle but it's rich in storytelling, the way Green laid out this script feels like choreography on the page. Well done!
