  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Coming Soon to the Dowling Bookstore

This is a fun, strong dark comedy that would be such a wonderful addition to a night of short plays. I got such a kick out of the banter between Dusty & Chet. O'Day is a remarkable writer that created a world that's engaging and dynamic. I look forward to reading and experiencing more of his work. Also, now I'm craving a Twinkie.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: 38 Cookies, 39 Reasons [a monologue]

Oh I feel very seen with this one. Wonderful writing, Steven. I really enjoyed this monologue and think it's extremely dynamic and so relatable. I want to produce a night of short monologues just to see this! Awesome, awesome monologue.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: An Apéritif [a 1-minute play]

I love how Steven creates a whole fully formed world in a minute. It's perfect, clear, succinct, and I'm here for it. Great work, Steven!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: The Sandbox

Osborne-Lee has written an outstanding short play that is strong, fully formed personalities that you immediately latch onto. I'm closing my eyes and imagining this up on it's feet, it would be such a wonderful treat for an audience, and a true standout in a short play festival. Wonderful work!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: FUCK BUDDY: THE MONOLOGUE

This is such a fun monologue, clever and intimate, funny, and real. It's a joy to read Asher's work and would be an even greater joy to see this in an evening of shorts. The description of place to set the tone, "A cold apartment of a recent fuck-buddy." is so good. Well done!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Scary to Love an Addict (a monologue)

This intimate and powerful monologue says so much in less than a page. It evokes a world of nuance and complex issues in simple, clear, and direct storytelling. Well done!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: A House by the Side of the Road

I love A House by the Side of the Road so much. Williams, with his careful grasp of subtext and natural dialogue, has crafted a strong nostalgia piece and I don't think there will be a dry eye in the theatre after this one. I love the character Clyde and wish I had a Clyde in my life when I was a kid. Thank you for writing this wonderful play, Philip. I hope to see it on stage sometime soon!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: COLLECTIVE GROUPINGS OF ANIMALS

This play is such a treat, I love the dialogue and absurdity of the piece. I ride the subway almost every day and will definitely think twice before munching something on my next ride. This piece would be really fun to see in a night of ten-minute plays. Well done!

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: BROTHERS

A powerful, important, and timely reflection on this challenging time we're currently living in. Carnes' smart play is subtle and electrifying.

  • Jeffrey James Keyes: Apollo's Defiance

Wow, this monologue really makes me reflect on all of the "gods" we've put on pedestals over the years. While reading this monologue in a post-Trump, post-Weinstein, post-Epstein America is so satisfying. In "Apollo's Defiance", Joshua Young flexes his masterful skill of allegory, humor, and language.
