  • Chelsea Frandsen: Bottle Episode

This play is delightfully weird, and asks necessary questions about current changes to our environment through a comedic cast of characters. Who would have thought a bottle had something so important to say?

  • Chelsea Frandsen: The Orphan Sea

Caridad Svich has taken me on a magical and poetic journey, creating a piece of theatre that would fit in festivals, colleges and professional and amateur theatre seasons. It's a designer's dream come true!

  • Chelsea Frandsen: A Hostile Takeover in Battery Park

Lunsford's taut and snappy dialogue reels to you in a keeps you guessing...until he absolutely floors it. Mrs. Barren and Kelly are dynamic females you don't want to mess with and will keep you riveted until the very end. A brilliant gem of a one act.

  • Chelsea Frandsen: Ridgway

Charlie O'Leary has blown me away with this fascinating and unforgettable examination of sexuality, race and the need to belong and be loved. It's dark and it's eerie and it's powerful and it's a perfect reflection of issues that resonate as strongly today as ever. Put this show on it's feet.

  • Chelsea Frandsen: SUGAR PIE

Lermond's "Sugar Pie" is very much like it's title--warm, sweet, and comforting. Willie and Ida are amazing characters that I was happy to spend time with and I hope to see them come alive onstage soon.

  • Chelsea Frandsen: Home-Style Cooking at the Gateway Cafe

Once again Phillip Middleton Williams pulls me into what I think a play is going to be about and then flips my perception on its head in a fantastic way. Producers, Directors, and Actors should seriously think about booking a table at Gateway Cafe soon, and do so more than once.

  • Chelsea Frandsen: Mother Road

In this brilliant sequel to one of English Literature's greatest novels, Octavio Solis gives Steinbeck a run for his money. This is a brilliant, powerful and beautiful play that should be put onstage sooner than soon.

  • Chelsea Frandsen: The Disappearing Diamonds: From The Casebook of Beak E. Baxter

Fans of Hank the Cowdog, Mr. Pin and Thornton Burgess will be delighted by this TYA caper. Baxter and Chomper are fantastic and the spoof-on-noir plot is a sure winner!

  • Chelsea Frandsen: Brothers on a Hotel Bed (15 minute play)

Ever had to share a bed with a sibling that already drives you nuts? What if you hadn't met this sibling until four hours prior? One answer to this question can be found in Speckman's poignant one act. Both comedic and heartfelt this play is a beautiful look at two half-brothers trying to navigate a new familial ties--and one hotel bed. Sam and James are authentic and wonderful characters anyone would love to play, especially younger actors.

  • Chelsea Frandsen: Catch/Release

Wow. This is the type of theatre that should be put on stage now. A beautiful piece of that kept me riveted and is sure to do the same to it's audience. Elisabeth Speckman has created wonderful characters in Margot, Jayne and Caleb. She also has the ability to handle uncomfortable themes with empathy and grace.
