  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Scorpio Moon

This is so terrifyingly real and supernatural at the same time. The reality of violence against women, the mental toll it takes and the guilt one can bear if they protect themself. But under the magic of Irish folklore, somehow the creep factor is amped up even more. Pure psychological terror. I imagine the design of this to be so cool to execute!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Before We Were Bake Sale Pies (3 Min Play)

Like a musical number straight out of WAITRESS, these three "pies" speak-perhaps sing?-of their beginnings. They share the collaboration of ingredients amongst them shaped who they are today. In the simple lines, we see growth and their value increasing as they continue to become. Suddenly I find myself wondering what flavor pie I might become.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Four Questions

This play starts with everyone (maybe even in the audience) ready to be on the defensive. A first date with hard hitting questions as if they were writing an important article about your foreign and domestic policy. But, just like with people, the stories become layered. I love this discussion, it's important. I also love the direction it appears to be headed.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: 'Twas the Morning of Christmas

This is adorable! Like a classic sitcom situation with a startle at the beginning, some innuendo in the middle and a happy ending! A perfect Christmas cookie of a short play!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: It'll All Work Out

Absolutely adorable! No wonder babies come out crying, they're demanding to speak to the manager!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Radio Hour

Oh this magic! Anyone who has lost anyone dreams of a magic like this. And the connection through the frame and the radio really shows that love, too, is a form of art that needs to be preserved and respected. This is a play, a painting, and a movement of classical music all in one.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Stool Pigeons

Ha! Now this is a way to get creatively "unblocked!" Just let two pigeon characters let em rip! A fun bit for character study, too. We should all have a friend to be honest with as well us and help us strategically poop!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Quarry House

This is a wonderful play that tricks you into thinking it's about a political hot topic, until suddenly you are enjoying a stormy and magical evening in a cabin with three very engaging characters. This is about familiar roots, the magic of human connection, and becoming who you were meant to be despite or even because of the actions of the past. We all need a magical, sovereign nation to get our heads right and set us on the right track.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: 37 Organic Peas

At its surface, this is a fast-paced pun-o-rama! But if you really delve into this piece (peas), it's a brilliant acting exercise. Like open scenes in an acting class, you can really see who each of these peas really are just by their lines. A large class can really work on this and create very solid characters from this while having a laugh or two! (Peas 34 & 35 are my favorite!)

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: THE LOCKE INN

I got seriously choked up at the end of this play! As someone who was raised on 90s sitcoms, it's very clear how The Locke Inn became a place of refuge in Matt's brain. The sitcom style writing is spot on, but the harsh moments of reality are so emotional. What a wonderful story that will really be fun to watch unravel on stage!
